City Policy Director

Managed for the executive administration, daily operation, and services of Vicksburg Mississippi Mayor’s office. Responsible for advising on budgeting, strategic planning, policy development, media relations, community development, and daily operations of the City. Directed the Mayor’s government and public policy agenda.

Reestablished intergovernmental communications to streamline effectiveness and reduce cost.

Secured $25K grant from the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality to create curb side recycling program eliminating more than 60% of waste stream pollution.

Appointed as 2010 United States Censes county coordinator for Warren County, MS.

Facilitated the $802M Congressional Supplemental Appropriation Grant for the reinforcement and repairs of the levee system of the Mississippi River and Tributaries within the Vicksburg District.

Partnered with the Warren County Emergency Food and Shelter Board to manage the $180K grant to supplement and increase ongoing feeding, sheltering, rent/mortgage, and utility assistance in the county.

Planned and implemented the Cities of Service coalition with local districts to expand community assistance and target residential needs by pledging that individuals dedicate 12 hours of volunteer service per year.

Winfield for Mayor Campaign, Vicksburg, MS. January 2009 – July 2009

Campaign Strategist and Organizer

Directed day to day advisement and administrative support of policy platform and theme for 2009 Mayoral Campaign. Oversaw planning, media development, budget overview, fundraising, poll analysis, and community coordination. Formalized office staff members.
