Montgomery Vision Care (January 27th 2015- October 3rd 2015)

Front desk receptionist/billing apprentice/contact lens coordinator

Front desk responsibilities: open and close office, run errands, answer telephone, schedule patient appointments, confirm patients appointment one day prior, order contact lenses via the patient’s request, enter new patient information into Officemate, verify insurance, pulled insurance benefits (Eyemed, VSP, Comp Benefits, etc), enter insurance benefits into Officemate, made new patient charts, pulled charts for the following day, took appointment request online, completed end of day processing, closed credit card machine, and some light cleaning

Billing apprentice responsibilities: Tasks were to make sure the correct vision/medical benefits were pulled prior to a patient’s appointment along with billing electronically their eye exam visit and/or their contact lenses purchase through their vision insurance such as Eyemed, Vision Service Plan, Comp benefits, and Spectera.

Contact lens coordinator responsibilities: Daily tasks were to make sure the contact lens room was tidy, made sure all of the trial lenses were highly stocked, make sure all of the specialty contact lenses (such as CRT or keratoconus lenses) were written down correctly in the contact lens log book to be order properly by the doctor or office manager, and I would make sure all contact lenses ordered were placed daily with our online contact lenses buyer.

oJob Accomplishments: Received my first raise within 4-5 months of hire, received my final raise within 8 months of hire. I was promoted to contact lens coordinator in June 2015.

Dr. Scott’s Beltone Hearing Care Center (March 25th 2014- July 11th 2014)

PCC (Patient Care Coordinator)- Receptionist/front desk

Responsibilities: answer telephone, schedule patient appointments, confirm patient appointments the day prior, new patient paperwork, enter new patients into computer, make new patient files, verify patients insurance coverage, enter invoices amounts/ prices in POS, greet the patients, send letters to patients, telemarket, send packages out via Fedex, simple accounting procedures, balance cash drawer, use credit card machine, prepare bank deposits, complete daily reports/to do lists, and clean the office and waiting area.
