PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Uptown Saint John: May 2016- June-2016
As part of NBCC’s graduation requirements, I participated in a five week work practicum. Uptown Saint John hired me to help them with several different projects which consisted of the following tasks:
Physical visits to BIA businesses, collecting information and interacting for the many programs they offer
•Data entry of all the coordinates of the businesses, i.e. property owner, business owner and other pertinent information for communication
•Worked alongside the Marketing & Communications Manager and wrote a comprehensive communications strategy for the upcoming year
•Responsible for social media promotion on Facebook and Twitter, as well as regular website maintenance
•Conducted financial reviews with the office manager
•Assisted with event logistics (i.e., DAC/DNB Conference, Uptown residential tour, etc.)
Brunswick News: March 2012 - February 2013
During my time employed at Brunswick News I was working as a circulation sales representative performing inbound and outbound calls. I was consistently the number one sales agent. As an experienced top sales performer, I was responsible to motivate the sales team to perform their best in providing excellent service and developing ongoing, profitable client relationships.
Cannon Security: May 2011 - January 2012
At Cannon Security I was working part time as a door-to-door sales agent. I sold home security systems to home owners as well as small businesses.
Atelka: November 2010 - February 2011
At Atelka I was supporting Bell Mobility customers. I took care of customers needs such as collecting bill payments, trouble shooting, adding and removing different features and price plans on their phones. I was also responsible for upselling customers the best promotions available.
Bowlarama West: August 2010 - November 2011
While employed at Bowlarama I hosted birthday parties and other events. I was also a trained bartender and was responsible for the collection of cash from the VLT machines.
Sobeys: June 2006 - 2008
I was a part time cashier, and also worked in the deli department. Provided excellent customer service and maintained a clean cooking environment.
Volunteer Work:
Acadian Trolley Tours: June 2010 - Present
I was responsible for gathering tourist from the cruise ship terminal onto the trolley bus, and provided informative historical tours of the Saint John area.
EDUCATION:
NBCC: September 2013 - 2016
I am a recent graduate of NBCC in the Business Administration program with a diploma in Marketing. I was elected as secretary for student council for the year of 2013. After being elected to student council, I was responsible for organizing numerous school functions.
Simonds High School: September 2005 - 2010
I graduated from Simonds High School. I participated in numerous school functions such as the Festival of Trees, 2005 Santa Claus Parade and I attended a French camp for a month in July 2006 at the Université de Moncton.
