Greetings,

I am applying, with due consideration and hope, for the position of Tax Accountant advertised on the My Job Helper website. I believe that my experience, skill set, and education make me a suitable candidate for this vacancy.

While my primary area of experience is in the retail automotive industry, the nature of that business has provided a wide exposure to accounting procedures which can be applied to a variety of businesses. I have fulfilled a wide range of duties which have given me familiarity with accounting for inventories using various methods, job costing, payroll preparation for commissioned, hourly, salaried, and production based pay plans and over all accounting for all of these activities. In addition I have been responsible for analysis and reconciliation of the construction billings for multiple dealership facility projects. My key accounting and financial competencies include, but are not limited to, maintaining financial records, developing and modifying budgets, account analysis, monthly closing activities, pro-forma analysis of business opportunities, assessment and development of internal accounting controls, and planning strategies for tax minimization.

I have recently ended my employment with the Fred Beans automotive group’s management company, Fred Beans Holdings, Inc., where I managed a staff of two, a bookkeeper and an assistant accounting analyst. During the course of my employment I developed proficiencies with several different accounting and payroll systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. Additionally I have acted as the accounting liaison for various banking relationships, interactions with the organization’s outside accounting firm, and with various governmental agencies in the matter of taxation and compliance.

I am a highly motivated and self-driven individual, eager to learn and expand my knowledge regarding all aspects of a successful business. I am an accomplished communicator, capable of explaining complex information in a comprehensible manner, have excellent time management skills and work equally well individually or as part of a team. A firm believer in proactive management, I am seeking a challenging and rewarding position in a dynamic organization. I am looking forward to meeting you regarding this exciting opportunity.

Regards,

Valerie Kay Morton
