Computational Fluid Dynamics

Analysis of Laminar Fully Developed Flow in Circular Pipe Utilizing STARCCM+ Software

Analyzed water distribution networks, design parameters, and pipe’s coefficient of friction.

Utilized discrete nature of numerical solution and finite-volume mesh to experimentally verify dependency of truncation error on mesh size; proved via experimentation that proposed model could be used with highest degree of accuracy of 0.32 friction factor in comparison to other methods.

Advanced Computer Aided Design & Manufacturing

Finite Element Method Analysis on Locomotive Pressure Relief Valve System Using PTC Creo & ANSYS

Collaborated with one team member to calculate spring constant, force acting in spring, and research modal frequency of system to prevent larger vibration during operation.

Designed and assembled locomotive pressure relief valve system; simulated design by importing it into Ansys and conducting experimental tests; achieved modal frequencies that showed reduction of larger vibration in system during operation according to simulation.
