Reporting VP of Global Data Center Operations, responsibilities include but are not limited to: Management of multiple direct reports and all Data Center Services remotely located in AIG’s Regional Data Centers from New Jersey to California, implement best practice Data Center processes and procedures, manage key data center projects, present to and provide metrics to global executive leadership
First week on staff took complete responsibility for $22Million gas based fire suppression to be implemented in Key U.S. based enterprise Data Centers. Negotiated with existing key vendors and external vendors and lowered overall cost of the project to $8 Million for a cost avoidance of $14 million allowing those funds to be transferred to other projects
Created 6 remediation projects for Regional Data Centers and computer rooms and developed a plan to implement. Project scope initially included 24 U.S. based sites and was expanded to 129 sites in the U.S. and then to all sites globally. (1024)
Hired staff for key regional Data Centers in Houston Texas, Amarillo Texas and Woodland Hills California and implemented Data Center best practices. Practices included consolidation of floor space, decommissioning, Cable remediation, upgrading VMware and reducing ESX footprint, and finally, turning Data Center floor back to sellable real estate.
Implemented and carried out a Global Data Center assessment questionnaire and collected key facility and computer data and created Database to provide data, not previously obtainable at AIG for IT consumption.
