NURSING EXPERIENCE

Caring for ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons in the acute care, private homes, and skilled nursing home atmosphere. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Physicians in the Sacramento and Northern California region.

Observing patients, charting and reporting changes in patients’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.

Administering prescribed medications to include oral meds as well as injections and topical medications like lotions, creams, or start intravenous fluids, and note times and amounts on patients’ charts.

Answering patients’ calls and determine how to assist them with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene, moving in bed, and standing or walking

Measuring, charting and recording pertinent information in paper chart as well as on computerized chart for each patient that will assist the doctor to make important decisions; these records must meet the needs of the doctor as well as the standards of state health codes.

Providing basic patient care and treatments, such as taking temperatures and blood pressure, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas, douches, suppositories, alcohol rubs, and massages, or performing catheterizations.

Ability to effectively work with diverse groups as demonstrated in nursing home experience, caring for residents with dementia and Alzheimer disease.
