DIRECTOR OF PRODUCTION / PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Growth Strategies / Continuous Improvement / Best Practices / Cost Reduction / Multi-Site / P&L

Product Development / Engineering Management / Lean / Six Sigma / Research & Analysis / QA

Utilizing exceptional product development, engineering and management talents, I identified/deployed innovative process improvements and cost-saving programs for global employers and clients including Kodak, 3M, Imation, SKC and DuPont. Combining technical knowledge with business acumen, I position employers for greater success. My transferrable strengths include:

Supporting data-driven decision making to improve top and bottom lines

Exempt and Non Exempt Personnel Management with effective communication at all levels

Aligning operational objectives with corporate goals to exceed objectives

Establishing supply chain processes and procedures to streamline operations

I hold a ME from Dartmouth College (thesis on ethanol production from biomass) and a BA in Chemistry from Williams College. A Six Sigma Black Belt with proven Lean success, I am a hands-on manager who leads by example and has a strong YOY impact.

Selected Accomplishments

Identified cost-saving option. One of Kodak's best-selling films required its most costly plastic, minimizing profit. Organized cross-functional team to develop alternative plastic and maintain quality. Added $15M in revenue/year.

Turned around region’s production. Hired by CHEP to improve productivity in Northwest US territory. Analyzed plants’ operations and initiated Best Practices as well as Lean principles. Standardized operations, reduced inventory 30% and increased productivity by 8%. Enhanced overall corporate profitability.

Enabled profitability. Sense Global consulting client, a Korean manufacturer, was about to shut down due to poor cash flow. Transferred manufacturing to the US at a slightly higher cost, but reduced payment time to improve cash flow. Delivered client to profitability within 8 months.

Helped company achieve unprecedented market share. PET Films Consulting was contracted to resolve client’s plastic film making technical issues that were causing declining sales. Identified and recommended solution within one week. Grew client’s market share to all-time best of 30% in just 9 months.

Leveraged Six Sigma to create major savings. Believed that Kodak could improve quality and reduce downstream waste by stopping production as soon as defects were found. Instituted a "no markout policy" on one film line to prove this. Saved $400K annually on test line and millions when applied to all film lines.
