Director of Procurement

Lead a department that solved major material obsolescence issues, allowing for continued delivery of products. Implemented new procedures that reflected the new procurement system allowing for audit compliance and AS9100 recertification. Generated cost reduction on new buys to average 8% reduction in BOM costs. Position ended with a company reduction in work force due to contract delays.

Accomplishments:

Directed a new supplier to manufacture a new display that replaced and obsolete product that was being procured through after markets. This reduced the total cost from $1,200 to $400

Established programs to reduce product lead times greater than 8 weeks, by working with suppliers to carry long lead items based on providing forecasts. This reduced the products time to market and the need for excess inventory.

Instituted target prices for buyers, which resulted in an average of 8% placement lower than standard cost.

Primary interface with Amherst Business Unit Executives to strategize, set, execute and status the Product Lines financial objectives. Managed all financial personnel in support of the product line and program team’s performance, which included Cost Estimating, Program Finance and Financial Planning and Analysis

Accomplishments:

Reduced the time to generate management reports, Cost Performance Reports and management dashboards. The time change two weeks to one week was accomplished gathering financial data on first day of new month versus the fifth day of month when all closing efforts were complete.
