Norwich Union Life (NUL) is a leading life insurance and pension provider in UK and part of the Aviva Group of Companies. LIFE/70 is a software package developed and supplied by CSC (Computer Science Corporation). The product was developed in early 70’s to support the need for Life and Pension policy administration from various insurance providers. CSC licensed LIFE/70 to Norwich Union with rights to modify the package to suit their business needs.

Each of the companies, General Accident (GA), Provident Mutual and Norwich Union, maintained individual LIFE/70 systems before their merger. All these systems are merged together into Norwich Union. All These systems collectively support various products such as Protection, Investment and Savings, Pensions and Retirement products. Each of these typically has core policy life cycle processes and support functional processes like General Ledger, Commissions handling etc.
