Description:

The integration between the two systems is built using the web services. The following functionalities were achieved:

i)Upon filing the First Notice of Loss (FNOL), the Mercury’s Customer Service Representative (CSR) will use the GW claims centre FNOL to search and retrieve the insured’s policy information from the NextGen UW system.

ii)Once the CSR submits the claims, the adjuster who reviews the claim can send notifications to the NG UW systems.

iii)NG Loss History screen reports all the GW claims created for that policy.

iv)Upon policy renewal, the NG UW system retrieves all the claims from the GW claims centre to report the violations and determine the policy premium for the next term.

v)Catch up mechanism is built to log and retry the policies that failed to retrieve the claim information from GW Claims Centre.

Responsibilities:

Quicksilver is an agent facing client server application primarily used by the mercury agents to write new quotes, rewrites and endorsements for Private Passenger Auto and Homeowners insurance. The application features in providing the quote, order motor violation reports, order credit scores, exporting data to homeowner system and submitting the application to underwriters for review and binding the policy. Currently this application is used by agents in three different states California, Illinois and Georgia.

Responsibilities:

Analyse and evaluate the proposed vehicle collision estimating solutions.

Create functional requirement and conceptual design documentation

Walkthrough the documents with the Business and IT project team.

Prepare detailed flow charts and diagrams outlining systems capabilities and processes

Description:

Applications in the EDI projects are basically a message oriented middleware with business process management providing value added services and file transfers. Depending on the business needs and complexity these applications are currently being migrated to WebSphere or File Transfer Services (FTS) from Vitria.

Connector agents picks up the file from the client inbound folders and starts the business specific processing like File Splitting, Encryption, Compression, File Rename, Creating and Posting Trigger file, Archive, Email Notification, File Sequencing, Acknowledgements and Negative Acknowledgments. System connects to the trading partner application to query the business rules specified for each client in the database. On completion of the file processing the files are transmitted to the destination servers specified in the database. System provides a business space for file tracking and monitoring.
