For the last 17 months I have been supporting a young 19year old girl who is autistic and has severe OCD as well as various other problems my role in this job consist of taking care of her personal hygiene and personal appearance making meals and controlling her challenging behaviour. She also has been housebound for the last year and I assist with various house activities with her whilst also giving her mother respite to get on with her daily jobs.

The10 year gap in my working period is when I decided to start a family. This is the time in which I was able to have 2 children and complete my family.

Associate Manager (Supervisor)

Build-A-Bear Workshop - September 2009 to Present

I have worked at Build-A-Bear Workshop Liverpool since May 2008. I worked for the company as a Bear Builder before being promoted to supervisor to cover maternity leave. I am extremely proud of what I have achieved so far at BAB. I have learned many valuable skills and managed different areas within the store.

• Daily and Weekly Paperwork - This includes filling out timesheets, cashing up and reporting and dealing with any discrepancies, planning rotas, dealing with any marketing requests. Also, everyday we are set a target and as a manager it is my job to set the staff with targets and think of new and fresh ideas on how to make the business a success and how to achieve the plans that we are set.

• Leading a team - In our store we have a team of 20 staff. Through the week we have approx 6 staff in and on a weekend we have most of the 20 shifted in. I always try to use the time I have with my staff proactively to ensure that I have the strongest team with the most dedicated people. When the store is quieter through the week, I try to use this time to look at where the staff can be improved and I will use the time to train. On a weekend when it is busier it is my role to ensure that all my team are displaying must see behaviours and giving the customers the best experience possible.

• Merchandising / Visual Standards - Since being a supervisor, it has been my responsibility to control all things relating to merchandising, this includes making sure deliveries are correct and stock levels are appropriate. Also it was my responsibility to make sure that the store is Grand Opening Ready everyday which includes making sure all planograms are correct.

Classroom Assistant

Adam Cliffe Special Needs School - 1995 to 1996

Classroom Assistant

St Teresa's Infant / Junior School - 1993 to 1994

My role as a Classroom Assistant included many different duties. These were mainly helping to set out daily activities for the children and then supervising the children while they carried out the activities. I also had to help the children with displaying their artwork which I found quite challenging with small children but extremely rewarding. Another one of the tasks that I had was to help the children with reading, writing and spelling. Again at times this could be quite challenging but it allowed me to learn how to deal with different situations. I also helped with the general upkeep of the classroom and helped out with classroom tours during open days. EDUCATION
