In addition to my responsibilities as Division Administrator – Operations, the following duties were incorporated in September 2014 and my position reclassified to Purchasing Project Administrator & Employee and Student Perks Program Coordinator:

Purchase Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment for University construction projects – Assess department requirements and budgetary constraints, coordinate vendor designs and selection process, and manage schedule for project implementation including material choices, purchase orders, fabrication and installation. Major construction projects include:

1.College of Pharmacy - Creating a “real world” Pharmacy environment to provide the students with hands-on instruction in addition to regular classroom requirements. Project budget: $1.2M on time and on budget.

2.East and West Wing Building renovation. Project budget: $800,000.

3.Digital Marketing Division renovation. Project budget: $250,000.

Develop and manage Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Quotes (RFQs), including the competitive bidding process, vendor eligibility, package disbursement, submission, review and award.

Created Facilities Use Policy, Procedures and E-Forms for use of campus facilities by outside groups or organizations.

Administer Employee & Student Perks Program (ESP) for 3,000 faculty, staff and students including the development of new business partners leading to an increase of 17%.

Division Administrator – Operations December 2006 – September 2014

Monthly reconciliation of fiscal year $7.7M budget for nine cost centers and audit for unauthorized spending. Yearly compilation of next fiscal year budgetary needs; including staff salary increases and capital expenditures.

Author and administer contractual agreements between outside entities interested in using the University’s campus for continuing education, seminars, government events and community entertainment. Number of groups since inception: 16. Largest group - first Breast Cancer Symposium held in conjunction with the Chicago Plastic Surgery Foundation, Inc., in October of 2011.

New Faculty Administrative Employee Relocations. Work with contracted moving company and new hire for moving their personal and/or laboratory items. Increased discount amount from 40% to 60% during contract renewal negotiations in 2011. Moves facilitated from December 2006 to date: 30.

Negotiate, implement and monitor yearly renewal with equipment insurance underwriter resulting in a 30% savings yearly for the University’s Equipment Repair Program.

Manage and renew service contracts, lease agreements and annual service orders University-wide. Number of service orders renewed in 2014/2015 fiscal year: 120.

Design, create and maintain the intranet website pages for the Operations Division (Purchasing, Distribution Services, Facilities Management and Security).

Conduct art appraisal and coordinate auction with Chicago auction house of approximately 149 rare books (1497 - 1925) and one significant piece of valuable artwork (“Fleet” 1969 Kenneth Nolan). Total sale amount - $92,595.
