Work Experience

Administration and Finance Officer National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, August 2009 to date

Implementing Accounting and Financial reporting systems and making sure that reports are compliant with the organization's reporting standards and policies.

Supervises the debtors & creditors to ensure that they are reconciled to the general ledger control accounts.

Supervises and authorizes creditors statements are reconciled before suppliers invoices are paid.

Check correctness of cashbooks and ensure properly reconciled to the general ledger control accounts.

Checks all wages and salaries journals are processed into CS3 Sage Line 500 System correctly.

Compiles vat and company tax returns for submission to tax office (Statutory Payments monitoring).

Prepares accounting reports on monthly basis for use by management & directors in decision-making process i.e. operating statements.

Assist the Assistant Director Admin and Finance in the production of budgets and budgetary control.

Fixed assets management including fixed asset register updating, depreciation calculations, transfers, acquisitions and disposals.

Formulates internal controls and make sure the controls on accounting and purchasing procedures are adhered to.

Ensure reconciliations are being done properly for example interdivisions reconciliations.

Monitors and oversees working capital cycles and cash flow management for daily and monthly operations of the division i.e. daily and monthly cash flow management.

Checks and ascertained that all audit working papers from debtors and creditor sections are done as per laid done procedures.

Preparation of lead schedules for example Year-end stock lead schedules and Year-end intercompany lead schedules.

Preparation of annual management accounts for audit purposes.

Attend to external auditors during interim and final auditing.

Consolidations of Divisional Management Accounts to Group Accounts.

Preparation for the Board Pack for Board Meetings

Keeping record of the financial transactions of the day to day activities of the firms.

Creditors Control and reconciliations

Invoicing/Billing and aged Debtors management

Creditors and Cash book management

Processes payments and documents such as invoices, journal vouchers, employ reimbursements, and statements.
