Staff Mechanical Engineer/Project Engineer

Pre-engineering for a Utah pipeline to carry waxy crude from the eastern part of the state, over the mountains and down into Ogden. Evaluation of 3 different route options between 150 and 165 miles and two different flow rates to a maximum of 175 KBPD. For each option, determination of quantity, placement and power requirements, capital pricing and delivery lead time for all pumping and heating stations. Utilize elevation profiles from Mapping for hydraulic analysis to produce hydraulic head and temperature profiles for each route. Develop sub-processes to respond quickly to frequent routing changes as the client considered various options.

Detailed engineering design for a refrigeration gas facility in Kentucky, involving two gas compressors, a refrigeration/condensation circuit, 4 separators, 6 heat exchangers, a de-ethanizer, and a de-methanizer. The complexity of the process was due to the requirement of keeping the gas temperatures within a very narrow range. Ensure the P&ID’s reflected the changing process conditions, keep all equipment specs current, work with the designers on the skid layouts, and determine equipment delivery lead times.

Detailed engineering design for a rail loading and unloading station in Catoosa, OK, capable of handling crude from 10 rail cars simultaneously and processing a 100 car train within 24 hours, while providing storage for 50,000 barrels of crude. Determining process conditions, specifying and performing technical evaluation of all equipment, including loading/unloading platforms, pumps, valves, custody transfer skids, tanks and piping for the facility.
