Substance Abuse Counselor
I educated individuals with substance dependence, whom are court referred or voluntarily admitted, on the process of recovery, using the 12 steps of AA/NA and issues that may be present with the disease of addiction. Group therapy is a tool used, as well as individual counseling. I meet with clients to formulate Individualized Service Plans to establish goals for the client’s recovery program. I assist Court referral sources to process clients in the legal aspect of their recovery with follow up information and Case Reviews, which are completed regularly.

I was a member of the JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) program for all four years, was promoted to be a member of the battalion staff where I assisted the instructors in maintaining the JROTC department classes and activities. As a sophomore I became a member of HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) and continued membership until completion of high school. As a member I was assigned clinical duties at hospitals, dentists' offices, and vet clinics during my class time. As a junior I became a member of the Math Honor Society for maintaining an A average in all of my high school math classes to that point and completed high school as a member. As a senior I became a member of the National Honor Society for maintaining a 3.5 GPA.
