Professional Experience (Executive Summary)

CFO/CEO TPL INVESTMENT GROUP, CORP June 2011 to Present

Provide ongoing financial and strategic executive leadership to more than 15 start-ups and regular operations encompassing auto dealers, fleet management, manufacturing, distribution, restaurants, communication, internet, technology management, operations, etc. Manage a subcontracted staff of 15 professionals responsible to manage our customer needs in areas of accounting, GAAP, federal and state taxes, government regulation requirements, collections, recommend credit policy guidelines, cash flows, capital investment, audit, treasury etc.

In partnership with World Capital Network and Global Venture Consulting Group, we have secured more than $8,000,000 in several capital short term investment loans. Some examples are on June 2011, we acquired Agua la Montaña for $2,500,000, the second largest producer and distributor of purified water in Puerto Rico. We have a work force of 78 sales associates serving over 2,500 with more than 40 years in the market.

On January 2013 we invested in an start-up, an served as a VP/Controller in Blue Markis Group a business organization in the field of technology, fiber optic, communications, and in 2 years reached a workforce of more than 500 employees with corporate headquarters in Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. I sold my shares in 2015 and established IT AuditorsPR, Corp in the field of technology, E-Rate, fiber optic, communications, colocation, data center development, RF technology, wireless internet, etc. I am the CFO/CEO of this new star-up.

General Manager Mendez & Co - Food Service Division ($300,000,000 Operation) 2003 – 2011

Restructured the FS Division with sales of $3,000,000 and 8 sales routes and in few years became the fourth largest FS distributor in the island reaching sales of more than $31,000,000 and hired and developed a sales force of 28 associates. Responsible for Sales, Profits, Marketing, Operations, Supply Change Management, Customer Service, and Collections. We served over 4,500 customers in Puerto Rico, Virgin Island, Dominican Republic, Virgin Islands and the Caribbean. We developed business relationship with partners in China, Canada, Colombia, Argentina, Spain, amongst others.

VP/Controller CARLOS MALAVE & Co, Cataño, PR ($30,000,000 Operation) 2000 –2003

Acquired 25% of the Company shares, turned around 5 years of negative financial results. Improved company market value in more than $10,000,000 and sold the operation to Mendez & Co.

Improved sales from $22,000,000 to $30,000,000 and profits from an annual loss of $1.1 million to an annual net income of $2.4 million in three years.

Negotiated and restructured long term loans with the bank and changed payment terms with all the main suppliers to improve working capital and cash flow. Credit limit policies were changed and collection ratios were improved from 40 days to 18 days by giving payment discounts to our main customers. Inventory levels were reduced from $4,000,000 to $2,800,000 in the first year.

Re-structured all the departments and streamlined the reporting processes to simplify the flow of information across the company. Headcount was reduced from 85 to 42 employees in the first 6 months.

Responsible for creating an environment focus on results, improving morale under challenging conditions, and productivity, and conveying the mission to become a profitable operation by holding people accountable for their performance.

Reduced delivery costs in 40% by consolidating delivery routes from 45 to 28 and lower inventory movements in the warehouse reducing breakage and inventory losses in 70%. Developed and enforced quality assurance program to ensure compliance with company and government regulations.

Senior Finance Director YUM Brands, (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell), Puerto Rico, ($275,000,000) 1992 – 2000

Managed a team of 65 people responsible for the following areas; Accounting, Financial Planning, Treasury, Cash Management, Fleet Management, Capital Expenditures, Purchasing, IT, and Business Development/Construction departments for Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Venezuela and Trinidad Tobago, a 7,000 employee region. Consolidated all the restaurants operations and I got promoted to Senior Finance Director for KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell with 145 stores and $230,000,000 on Annual Sales. Opened 30 stores in 8 years and developed the concept of multi-branding by opening Taco Bell and Pizza Hut operations in KFC sites to maximize the property investment. We were the first in Latin-American to execute the conversions and make them profitable. We were audited 3 times in 8 years and got the Well Controlled Operation rating.

Assistant Controller JOHNSON & JOHNSON CORP (ORTHO Pharmaceutical and Ortho Biologics), 1990 – 1992

Responsible for the start-up of Ortho Biologics, Inc, a $100,000,000 capital investment. The first Bio-technology operation for Johnson and Johnson Corp in the world. Hired and trained the accounting staff and developed and implemented the accounting processes for the Ortho Biologics startup operation.

Audit Supervisor PEPSICO Inc. New York, /Deloitte and Touche, PR 1984-1990

In charge of audits for all PepsiCo divisions, (Frito Lay's, Bottling Operations and Restaurants Divisions KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell) around the world. Some of the countries visited were, Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Spain, Israel, France, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Philippines.
