Duties are given:

ØTo organize training courses for pre-service and in-service personnel of Department.

ØVocational training to fish farmers, employees of other

ØNation Building Departments on fish farming.

ØPublicity of departmental policies and achievements through leaflets, radio, T.V. programme and audio visual media.

ØDissemination of technical advice on fish culture to public.

ØManagement of the boarding and joining of trainees.

ØTraining of professional staff for the promotion of fish culture and to motivate the public through publicity.

ØTraining Centre on various Biological and Cultural aspects of Fish and Fisheries.

ØDemonstration work in the Laboratory.

ØManagement of Aquaria, Library and Laboratory equipment of the Fisheries Training Centre.

ØTo assist the Zoologist in technical and administrative functions of the Fisheries Training Centre.

ØInstallations so as to regulate their functions on scientific line.

ØDistribution and supply of fish seed to fish culture units in public and private sectors.

Duties

1. Technical guidance to field staff on fish culture.

2. Research work on problems related to seed production techniques and technical guidance to public on designing of hatcheries.

3. To maintain liaison with research Institute’s staff and aqua culture Development project for promotion of fish culture practices.

4. To cater the large scale requirement of fish seed of cultureable species, to meet the development requirements of the resources in public and private
