Product development Engineer for XFP Optical Transceiver Products/ 10G LW & SW.

Introduction of Linear Amplifier inside the XFP Transmitter optical subassembly (TOSA) to improve the signal integrity & Tx signal performance To improve this we have introduced a Liner amplifier inside the TOSA housing itself (Very close to the laser) so that it can reproduce the actual electrical signal & provide better impedance matching between the Laser driver & Laser itself.

Optimization of Tx CDR (clock & data recovery) Parameters to reduce the Tx eye Mask Failures. To provide better eye tuning we have developed a search algorithm to get most optimized value for CDR parameters (boost, Eq. up/down, asymmetry) to get optimized Tx eye.

Responsible for NPI (New product development) release of products, Working with R&D Team to

Evaluate various stages of product like EVT, PVT, MVT.

Involved in Process assembly & Testing for Semiconductor wafer of Laser diodes, Photodiodes.

Implemented a change of semiconductor die in XFP photodiode optical receiver subassembly, which improved the overall working performance of Module by providing better High power reception.

Perform circuit board verification & testing used to test transceiver modules, check for any abnormalities in the generated waveforms at various levels, Voltages/Current at different levels.

Introduction of new EMI Choke collar in the Module TOSA to provide EMI production.

Introduction of new thermal pads inside the module to improve Industrial temp performance & reduction in overall power consumption.

Implemented change in module Laser Diode assembly (Transceiver optical sub assembly) which reduced the overall Product cost by 10% & improved the output lightwave quality.

Done engineering changes in product testing to do Test Time Reduction by 30%, designing of various Debug process for product technicians, for circuit level debug, Component level debug.

Qualify EEPROM data for transceivers modules, which define the Alarm & Warning Threshold limits for various digital diagnostic parameters like, overcurrent protection limit, High power protection, Rx Loss Assert & dessert power levels etc.

Implemented Optical Transceivers testing cost reduction by using Instrument sharing in testers (Digital Communication Analyzer (DCA) tester), which provides the DCA Cost reduction by 50%. Done required Changes in the test plan to accommodate this instrument sharing.

Designed & Implemented Temperature monitoring system with real time data logging in the server. This

system monitors the changes & drift in the temperature due to Hot air from the temp boxes. System use

Temp sensor provided to Atmel AVR microcontroller and Ethernet shield for server logging.

•Responsible for Designing 1st Pass Yield improvement plans on weekly basis, & Present the Product yield Improvement repot on weekly basis.

Research Details: Physical & MAC Layer issues in Long Reach Passive Optical Networks (LR-PON). LR-PON is a PON based technology to support High Bandwidth Services by Integration of Metro & Access Layers, which removes the requirements of intermediate networking equipment to provide cost reduction.

BER analysis and Sensitivity penalty for burst-mode optical receiver has been done, considering thermal noise dominated case & Shot noise dominated case with varying number of preamble bits. Simulated the results in MATLAB.

Analysed Real time data analysis of DBA algorithm, Interleaved polling with adaptive cycle time (IPACT) under various grant scheduling schemes like Gated, Limited, Linear credit. Simulated these algorithms using MATLAB.

Proposed modification in IPACT algorithm and delay comparison with existing IPACT algorithm under above grant scheduling schemes and provide the data analysis comparison with IPACT.
