IT Generalist 2003 – 2016

Managed Everything IT:

- Provided help desk tech support, troubleshooting and hardware repair (Desktop/laptop, monitor, printers…).

- Managed user accounts daily (MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, Domain and Server Management).

- Maintained network voice and data equipment and connectivity for all four remote locations (Cisco Routers/Switches, Telecommunication Equipment, IP Networking).

- Managed network server, database server and firewall. Performed daily backups and implemented disaster recovery procedures. Managed department budget purchasing and upgrades. Design and program/create reports and extract data from the database.

Remote Management: During the last 3 years, I installed and used remote access software on all PCs for troubleshooting and repair while I lived out of state. I also managed an independent contractor to handle hardware setup and repair on an as needed basis.

Projects/Accomplishments:

- Implemented an entirely new inter-company document exchange that saved the company in phone/fax line expenses, plus greatly reduced toner ink and paper waste.

- Assisted in the multi-year planning, development and buildout of a new store.

- Acquired, configured and installed a company-first firewall, as well as established VPNs for remote user access.

- Assessed and implemented the restructuring of energy backup for all the server/network room equipment.

- Administer POS database. Create customized programs for managers to use and extract data on demand. Troubleshoot and maintain data integrity of the system software.

- Setup an automatic dialer system and integrate it with the database for in-house call center.
