M. Tech Project: - “Numerical simulation of controlled cooling of micro alloy steel forged crankshaft using CFD”.
Company: - Bharat Forge Ltd; Pune.
Objective:-
This project consist of an innovative approach for simulating the controlled cooling of micro alloy steel forged crankshaft in coupling with numerical and experimental techniques. However there is no systematic and logical method in order to obtain the exact cooling rate of forged crankshaft in order to maintain microstructure and mechanical properties. The practice which company was adapting to measure cooling rate was based on experience of working persons their skills and capability which can be same how called as a trial-and-error method. In order to overcome this problem an attempt was made to adopt most rational and mathematical way of simulation.
