October 2011-December 2015 Westrock Company Copeland Engineer

oHired in as a Copeland utility and my job duties were to be the eyes and ears for the Copeland Operator. Some of my regular duties were to check the levels of black liquor in the two sets of evaporators for which we would get used and watered down black liquor from the pulp mill. This watered down Black liquor was then run through the evaporators which would evaporate the excess water from the black liquor which we would send back for the pulp mill to use again. Another part of my job was to monitor the fractions of our product from a fluidized bed reactor. One of the other job duties is opening and closing high pressure steam valves, I also trained for and obtained the title as Copeland Engineer which is the Copeland operator. I was responsible for running the two sets of evaporators, and fluidized bed reactor, also made slurry for the pulp mill which was the product from the reactor mixed with the condensate we evaporated from the black liquor. Reason for leaving was because of a plant closure.

November 2004-October 2011 Boltaron Performance Products Production Supervisor

oOnce hired I was a color compounder which means I mixed the color pigment that was added to a compound mixture and was extruded into plastic sheets in various sizes and thicknesses. From that job I was trained on every job on the Calendar line which produced sheets of plastic that was like paper. Once fully trained I applied for and was awarded the apprentice job for the calendar line and I was ten trained to run the calendar. I ran the calendar when the operators went on vacation or were absent from work. The production Supervisor job came open and I was selected for the job due to my knowledge and experience to learn jobs quickly and perform the jobs in a timely and correct manner. As the production supervisor I was responsible for 30 employees on a rotating shift. My responsibilities were to make sure employees were running the product to spec for each customer, do quality checks every hour, work closely with the production scheduler to make sure we were meeting our shipping goals for each order and report any issues that would prevent us from shipping on time. Documentation was a huge part of my job both with paper and pencil as well as on computer. Handled all employee issues with human resources. Towards the end of my stay at Boltaron I was trained in 5S and lean manufacturing. I headed up a 5s project which cut our downtime in the extrusion department greatly because of a tool cart that I had made for each extruder so each line had their own tools and didn’t have to borrow and wait for only one set of tools.

I enjoy the Tech area, Technology intrigues me. I enjoy making spreadsheets and using the Microsoft Office Platform.

Coaching basketball is a hobby I have gotten away from but I enjoy teaching someone a new skill.

Playing golf is a hobby of mine as well

I have formed a twitter campaign to get my son a service dog and through twitter I was able to achieve the result I was looking for.
