The
ECOLOGICAL
DAYCARE
in NDG
Join the movement!
On behalf of children
everywhere,
THANK YOU
FOR CARING!
“We do not inherit the Earth from our
ancestors, we borrow it from our children.”
Native American proverb
An Eco-Quartier NDG project
In addition to being good for the
environment, becoming an ecological
daycare is easy, economical and good for
the children’s health.
More and more parents are discovering
the importance of reducing their children’s
exposure to chemicals at home but also
outside the home. Becoming an ecological
daycare can reassure parents that their
children are being well taken care of in
every possible sense.
FREE ENVIRONMENTAL
WORKSHOPS OFFERED BY
ECO-QUARTIER NDG
Why not book a workshop? Booking
a workshop could help you find out more
about these initiatives. Do you want to give
your students the opportunity to participate
in environmental workshops throughout
the year? If so, you may have found your
match! Your Éco-quartier NDG would like
to discuss different environmental issues
with them, free of charge! The end goal of
these workshops is to help your students
learn how their actions can impact the
planet.
All workshops last between 45 minutes to
1 hour (flexible).
Offered in your choice of English or French.
Maximum number of participants is 30.
For ages 3 to 5 years old.
Discovering Vermicomposting
Everyone will meet and greet our
friendly red worms in this introductory
workshop to vermicomposting. In
addition to learning about the process
of composting and what to put in the
composter, kids can learn to become more
responsible at home.
“ECO” Arts ‘N’ Crafts Workshop
Throughout the year, whether during
the Christmas holidays, St-Valentines,
Easter etc., there are many opportunities
to offer little gifts to those we care about.
Unfortunately, these holidays are being
more and more commercialized and
encourage over-consumption. Through a
creative and educative workshop, we wish
to sensitize the students to the impacts
of excessive consumption, and to the 3R
principles (reduce, reuse, recycle), all by
providing them with ideas and suggestions
for gifts and decorations made by hand,
and from recycled materials. We hope that
these ideas will open the doors to their
imagination and help them discover the
potential of these “green” alternatives,
which are also much more original and in
the end, more gratifying.
Sorting Relay and 3RVs (Reduce,
Reuse, Recycle and Valorization)
Sensitization Workshop
The ultimate sorting test! We will
evaluate how well the children know
what items are recyclable, which are
compostable and which cannot be reused.
A dynamic presentation on the problems
associated with waste materials, as well
as the importance of the 3RVs, helps
the children reflect on their consumption
habits and the everyday actions of
“throwing stuff away.”
