As a medical intern I was rotated across the following eight departments at the SKBZH - Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Maternal and Child Health, Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine
Assessed patients and delivered case presentations to resident doctors in conjunction to proposing diagnostic strategies, interpretation of results and prospective treatments
Assisted surgeons in several surgical procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, cyst removal
Assisted Obstetricians with labor and delivery (including vacuum delivery), vaginal suturing, abdominal ultrasounds and surgical procedures such as cesarean, hysterectomy and bartholin cyst removal
Reviewed and assessed cases in NICU and observed procedures like spinal tap in children
Practised suturing and nasogastric tube insertion in Emergency medicine posting, observed strategies involved in diagnosis and care of different critically ill patients and study postmortem cases
