QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY

I am a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and over 25 years of engineering and construction experience. For the past ten years, I have served as a Construction Site Superintendent with various firms within the Greater Toronto Area where I have developed extensive experience in the delivery and supervision of commercial and industrial construction projects.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

IBI Group Inc. –Engineering and Architectural Consultants

Toronto, Ontario

Sep 2014 – Oct 2015

Oversaw the construction of noise walls and fencing for the Georgetown South (Kitchener) Corridor. The work included ten kilometers of 5-meter high noise walls with various types of material and approximately 20 kilometers High Security and chain-link fence.

Responsibilities included supervising the contractor, recording all site activities, providing technical guidance and reporting on prevailing site conditions in addition to preparing quantities for payments and ensuring construction as per contract and relevant standard specifications.

Vaughan, Ontario

Jun 2013 – Jul 2014

Oversaw construction of McLeod Square Plaza in Niagara Falls which included three buildings with ten units each totaling 200,000 sq ft. Site works included site servicing, engineered fill, storm pond, hardscaping, parking lots, and landscaping.

Responsibilities also included coordinating between all aspects of work (architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical works), managing and scheduling sub-trades on site, preparing daily and monthly progress reports, and ensuring all activities were executed in accordance to all safety regulations.

Oversaw all aspects of site activities, which included demolition, backfilling and grading for future electrical factory. As well as the construction of site servicing, foundations, and paving for future development. Site works also included a road extension and associated utilities and infrastructure works. Which included electrical works, site servicing, excavation and backfill, and public utility coordination.

Responsibilities coordination with various stakeholders and public utilities, as well as monitoring field operations, ensuring work is completed according to the project schedule and specifications, and ensuring sub-trade performance and quality control to the client’s specifications.

Other responsibilities included project management functions such as scheduling, material and payment tracking to ensure project delivery within assigned budget.

Mississauga, Ontario

Sep 2005– Jul 2010

Oversaw Construction of several commercial and institutional developments, such as the Oshawa Plaza on Simcoe St in Oshawa, The Kingston Plaza on Port Union Rd in Scarborough, and the Malton Mosque on Airport Rd in Mississauga. This also includes renovation of several restaurants, stores and dentist offices in cities of Mississauga and Toronto.

Construction supervision included surveying, excavation, structural, mechanical, electrical, and all rough-in works. Site works included engineering fill, site services, paving, hardscaping, and soft landscaping.

Responsibilities included monitoring field operations, ensuring work is being completed according to the project schedule and specifications; and ensuring that sub-trade performance and quality of work meet customer satisfaction.

Other responsibilities included daily supervision of all site operations, including management and maintenance of all regulated site safety policies, and ensuring project plans and schedule are followed and project is executed effectively and within budget.

Beirut, Lebanon

Feb. 1998 – June 2005

Participated in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the highway connecting the City of Beirut to City of Chtaura, and the international highway crossing Lebanese-Syrian Border.

Responsibilities included tender reviews, monitoring of sub-trade performance, preparation and updating of project schedules, cost control, and progress reports and evaluated differences, and issuance of change orders and site instructions, review and approval for quantities and invoices, and preparation of project close out documents.

Beirut - Lebanon

Oct. 1992– Dec 1998

Participated in the construction of the waste water treatment plants in the City of Baalbeck and the City of Al-Damour, Lebanon. The work included the installation of concrete sewer pipes (6000mm-1200mm), excavation and reinforced concrete perimeter walls for three circular tanks.

Responsibilities were to supervise the delivery of all works, including excavation, steel works, and formworks and casting concrete. Ensuring all activities are performed as planned in the project schedule and according to project drawings and specifications, while ensuring adherence to all local safety regulations.
