Methanex Chili Relocation Project April 2014 to Current

Commissioning/Turnover Manager:

Worked closely with Client Operations personnel to develop project pre-commissioning and turnover procedures using systems that will be used in the module fabrication facilities and at the jobsites.

Provided input to project process engineering in the establishment of system boundaries and participated in constructability reviews to ensure efficient pre-commissioning and turnover.

Developed organization charts for the pre-commissioning and turnover departments at the Methanex project location and ensured that the organization was properly staffed to execute their scope of work. Ensured that all personnel in the pre-commissioning and turnover department are fully trained in the procedures to be followed in the execution of their scope of work. Burners, Cooling Tower, Desuperheater, Eductor, Exchangers, Flare Stack, Reactor, Reformer, Refactory, SCR, Silencers, Tanks, Vessels.

The first plant, Geismar I, is expected to be operational by the end of 2014. The second plant, Geismar II, is expected to be operational by early 2016. The plants will each be capable of producing 1.1 million tons of methanol a year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and managed specialist personnel to provide a planned, documented and manage engineering approach to the start-up, commissioning and turnover of facilities, systems, and equipment to the end-user, resulting in a safe and functional environment that meets established design requirements and stakeholder expectations. Developed commissioning and start-up plans and procedures to assure conformance to company guidelines and practices. Understood the formal design record documents and location / accessibility. Developed and monitored status reports prepared by commissioning personnel and modified schedules or plans as required and needed. Coordinated and/or attends design, construction, commissioning, start-up and qualification meetings. Identified owner’s goals, needs, and expectations for building operation and function; identified the commissioning responsibilities.

Freeport McMorran Copper and Gold Mine

September 2013 to April 2014

55K Metcalf Expansion Project – 68,000 mtd crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system; a low-grade run off mine leaching system: four solution extract (SX) plants; and three electro winning (EW) tank houses producing copper cathode.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties cover inspection at all phases of construction, equipment installation, mechanical completion, commissioning and operations as they relate to E&I discipline. Supervised and coordinated all the shutdown activities engaged in both Electrical and instrument removal & installation and ensure compliance with overall quality, safety, and environmental standards. Equipment data collection and inventory to build and hold full technical and maintenance data on all equipment which fully reflect the actual condition and whereabouts of all installed equipment. Established close communication and teamwork with other disciplines to endure overall successful completion. Coordinated with the preservation/maintenance supervisor to ensure proper protection of electrical and controls equipment. Closely worked together with E&I construction personnel and vendor representatives on all matters related to platform control system.
