SEP 2001 - APRIL 2010
This is where I completed my work placement with a day release to college and gradually worked my way up to Assistant Manager.
In this role my key responsibilities would include; taking bookings & receiving clients as they arrive, conferring with clients to determine their individual hair requirements, I would provide cutting and styling services, provide services such as bleaching, coloring and conditioning, hair straightening and perms.
Recommending hair care products and attempting to sell the salon’s retail products.
Additionally I would assist in the management of the salon staff, including conducting scheduled appraisals and I would be responsible for cashing up daily and banking takings.
SELF EMPLOYED MOBILE HAIRDRESSER
APRIL 2010 - MARCH 2015
I decided to become a mobile hairdresser after having a baby in 2009, as it is more flexible with hours when it comes to childcare, school holidays etc.
I believe that my years in this role have made me a more diverse and improved my social and consultation skills.
THE HAIR LOUNGE SENIOR STYLIST
MARCH 2015 - MARCH 2016
I was offered the role of senior stylist at the Hair Lounge, this salon is owned by my first boss, whom I had completed my training with.
Although I enjoyed working at the Hair Lounge and have great passion for working in the salon environment, the hours were not enough to match the earnings I was getting before. And my husband and I had decided to save to hopefully emigrate to Australia.
