During my time at Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, I was able to reduce paint cost for repairs, reduce repair times, improve assembly process efficiencies; counter measure safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale issues. I reduce the cost of Paint for repairs, and improving repair efficiency of making the repair, reducing paint cost and reducing the cost of paint guns, by changing the paint guns being used.

Career Summary:

Experienced in manufacturing production operation. Working the last 12 years as a Team Manager for Honda of Alabama. I’m looking for a company that allows associates to think for theirself, and is open to learning from experiences that others may bring to help improve company and associate needs. I’m strong at developing relationships with associates to get them to perform at a maximal efficiency, while at the same time holding them accountable for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Company Policies.

33 years of Automotive Experience in everything from sanding and painting to Managing in major automotive production plants.

19 years of managing associates. Managing up to 115 associates at once. Average managing 75 associates per area over last 12 years as Team Manager.

Experience using several computer programs including Excel Spread Sheets, Power Points and Words.

Developing Training Plans for associates for production processes and new model processes start up for Paint Lines at Honda of Alabama.

Manage startup of Bumper Paint Department Areas for New Line Startup.

Responsibilities of a Team Manager and duties I been performing the last 12 years included some of the following:

• Safety: Daily Safety audits to insure associates are following all Safety Policies. Meet with associates at the spot to go over and safety concerns they have, and/or injuries that may have occurred. Follow up on all injuries to find true root cause, and insure that Counter Measure activities are in place to prevent other associates from being injured. Record and review all injuries with upper level management.

• Quality: Follow up on any Quality Outflow; insure quality containment plan in place to prevent poor quality from reaching the customer, implement Counter Measure to prevent Quality issues, report on problems to upper level management. Working with Parts Quality to correct any parts issues impacting quality.

• Delivery: Responsible for daily production. Following up on Parts Delivery and Shortage issues. Working with Logic and Purchasing to correct all delivery concerns. Report and Counter Measure Production down time issues.

• Cost: Control MRO sending for zones within Global area. Understand and counter measure parts rejection, caused by production issues. Control and Report on all Parts Rejections.

• Morale: Follow up on associates concerns. Support associates that have ideas for improvements to Zones and/or Global areas. Track and issue when needed associate corrective action for attendance issues. Insure associates are following all policies and procedures per associates hand book. Report and support Associate Relations with all associate corrective action processes.

• Tools used: 12 years of experience working with computers using Excel, Power Points and Words. Using data bases design to record Root Cause and Counter Measure Activities. Experienced at filling out 5P’s, Time Lines, Why Why’s, and other problem solving tools to find true root cause for counter measure activities, and reporting these problems. Verifying Time for associates (from 40 to 115 associates at a time, depending on size of Global Area).

Over 33 years of Automotive Painting experience. Started in 1983, sand and prep cars and trucks for Painting. Experience sanding & prepping metals, and bring them back to a finished product. Taking units apart and reassembling them after completion. Using pressure paint equipment design to paint large metal or steel parts.

5 plus years working with Over Head Cranes (up to 20 tons), Forklift Driver, loading and unloading trucks.

Work Experience:

11/2015-present, HMA. Moved to Suspension Dress Lines at Line 1. Goal to support New Model Activities (2017 New Model Ridgeline and Odyssey Projects). Follow up on associates not following policies and procedures within Global Area. Support startup of new conveyer system being installed to improve Rear Suspension inefficiency.

7/2014- 11/2015, HMA. Moved to Ext 2, to support starting up Pilot at Line 1. Over see Fit and Finish of Pilots being built at Line 1. Improve Quality Outflow within the Global Area. Reduce the number of quality containment sweeps. Level up associates process knowledge. Reduce production related down time issues.

6/2013-7/2014, HMA. Moved to Line 1, to be Team Manager over PMQ/Repair during startup of New Model Odyssey’s Startup. Responsible for over seen Quality of units being build, and insuring any quality concerns were repaired before units could be shipped to dealers. Organize Repair Inventory, Feedback Quality Outflow to Global Areas for Counter Measure Activities, Support Global Areas with ways to counter measure outflow. Support Global Areas with Quality Containment, until Counter Measures are in place.

3/2011-6/2013 HMA. Team Manager at AF-2, over Exterior 2. Over seen Ridgeline start up, Pilot 800 ramp up and MDX start up.

9/2007-3/2011, HMA. Move to AF-2 Compound Quality. Goal of improving Quality Feedback to Global Areas, and Reducing & Maintaining Inventory Levels. Implement new tracking for holding associates accountable for Quality Outflow. Both Process Associates and PMQ Associates. Organize Repair Inventory, while planning for New Model Pilot start up. Also, did start up and close out builds on Accords and Odysseys, along with over seeing Training for Repair Associates for Line 2 Ridgeline start up.

11/2006-9/2007, HMA. Move to AF-2 Exterior 1. Goals of reducing Down Time, improving AF Quality, and start holding associates accountable for their processes.

5/2004- to 11/2006, HMA. Promoted to Production Team Manager. Team Manager over Bumper Paint and Sealer Line first 6 months. Over seeing Bumper service parts start up, day-to-day operations of Bumper Paint and Sealer Line for two shifts start up. Team Manager over Sealer Line, A Team, during two shifts starts up.

8/2003-4/2004, HMA. Selected to support Line 2 Start Up. Supported starting up Final Paint Repair and Bumper Paint. Over seeing the development of Operation Standards, Process Associates Training, Equipment Set Up, Process Layouts, etc.

3/2002-8/2003. HMA. Promoted to Team Coordinator for Final Paint Repair at Line 1. Work as Team Coordinator in Final Paint Repair, In-line Repair and Paint Inspection.

4/2001-3/2002, HMA. Hired as Process Associate. Train 12 weeks at HCM, in Final Paint Repair. Started up Line 1 Final Paint Repair, Train other Process Associates how to prep sand & polish and paint in Final Paint Repair.
