Career Objective
An experienced Operating Department Practitioner/Anaesthetic Assistant seeking a position in an organisation to utilise my skills, knowledge, experience and passion for patient care and Anaesthetic. I have also worked as an Anaesthetic assistant in Dubai, Kuwait and India. Duties and Responsibilities
Cleaning and setting-up anaesthetic room prior to any anaesthetic procedure.
Operating & checking of anaesthetic machine according to AAIGB standard.
Checking Monitors, Ventilators, Infusion Pumps, Defibrillator, difficult intubation trolley and other devices.
Implement and evaluate care plans as appropriate to surgical requirement and patient condition.
Checking the patient records, consent, and availability of blood and blood products, Blood results, X-ray and X-ray reports, allergy status, and correct procedure.
Checking Blood products and transfusing according to local policy.
Intra-operative and postoperative patient monitoring.
Monitoring and assessing patient condition, responding to changes in condition, proposing making changes to care plan as required.
Assist the anaesthetist in maintaining the physical and physiological balance of the anaesthetised patient throughout their surgery using knowledge, skills and experience for patients requiring different levels of dependency and procedures.
Assist the anaesthetist for providing local anaesthesia, General anaesthesia, Regional anaesthesia (Spinal & Epidural) and Nerve block (Upper and Lower Limb).
Airway management (including difficult airway).
Setting-up intravenous drips, arterial line, CVP line, blood & fluid warmer and Level-1 rapid infuser.
Assist for Intravenous, Arterial, CVC insertion.
Assist in Intubation, Extubation and transferring patients to recovery room or ITU.
Directing and participating in the manoeuvring and the positioning of conscious and unconscious patients.
Prepare drugs and labelling syringes as requested by and under the supervision of anaesthetist.
Document and record preparing.
Handover and transferring responsibility of care to colleagues, ensuring appropriate information and care is relayed.
Stock anaesthetic room and anaesthetic trolley.
Order control drugs and keeping record of control drugs.
Working within guidelines HCPC Codes of Practice as legally obliged by registration.
Coordinate with other multi-disciplinary team to smooth running of theatre list.
