Position: Senior Structure Designer
Duties: Structure 2D drawings and 3D models for the AFREN (OKWOK AND OKORO), EOG Resources 340ft and Vestigo (Tembikai) Seahorse III offshore platforms. All projects consisted of primary steel – jack and deck structure. Check drawings for errors then issue. After completion of the “K” drawings are the A&D (arrangement and detail) drawings. This drawing places the foundation and or outfitting item. Equipment Arrangement is required to show where all of the equipment is located. Continually using NAVIS to confirm design and new placement of equipment during all steps of each drawing being issued. Communicated with production in the office and yard to ensure quality and accuracy.

Position: Group Leader/Senior Designer for Outfitting
Duties: Supervised designers for the Outfitting and Structure on the FOSS RO/RO vessel for the last fourteen months of the project. Responsible for insuring all regulatory bodies; USCG, Solas and ABS rules where met as a group leader. Designed many foundations for electrical, HVAC, mechanical, outfitting and joiner equipment. Designed several folding mast and antennas foundations to allow the vessel to navigate underneath bridges located on the Mississippi river. Interacted with vendors and owners to insure the success of the project. Designed a jig for installing the insert plates on the main deck of the vessel for securing Delta V booster rocket’s foundations to the deck. Participated in estimates and purchasing of equipment such as the ship’s anchor, bridge furniture and lifeboat davits and lifeboats. Created IMO symbol charts and Safety/Fire Control Plans for posting onboard the vessel per Coast Guard Regulations. Designed a weather resistant lifejacket stowage box that was strong enough to support personnel seating installed in many locations about the ship’s weather decks. Work with the yard on installing mooring and ships anchor systems. Layout the helicopters approach markings and insured that all obstacles in way of the landing pad where installed at the proper height requirements per regulations. Managed all arrangements of equipment on topside of the vessel, including antennas, radar domes and communication satellite domes, ships whistle and horns. I designed many grating platforms, cross over platforms, gang ways, shaft expanded guards, bearing pedestals foundations, main engine and auxiliary/diesel generator foundations. Placement of navigational signal flags and lights per Coast Guard rules. Updated as-built drawing prior to the delivery of the vessel. Assisted with the development of the scantlings drawings for several vessels. Made several type of ceremonial launching sign, saving Halter hundreds of dollars per sign and time. Performed many of the same type of duties listed above on other vessels as well; tug boats and supply boats. Duties: Assisted Noble Drilling’s field engineer with the re-fit of the companies existing Jack-Up rigs.
Produced production drawings; inclined stairs, handrail systems, hull structure, piping layouts, grating platforms, drill floor, decks, sponsons, pontoons, lifeboats, columns bracing, electrical wireways, bulkhead doubler plates, sub-base platform. Produced detail drawings for the fabrication shop. Reconstructed the drilling platform and sub-base in a 3D model using AutoCAD 13 for Noble Drilling. Performed many material take-offs from the rigs for estimating paint square footage and the purchasing material for repairs. Estimated the man hours, material cost, down time, equipment hours for many of project bids. Nested material for all bids placed using AutoCAD and spreadsheets. Created cut sheets, for the burn tables, for cutting the nested plates for each project.

Deployed for two years aboard the USS AMERICA and served in all campaigns of Desert Storm. Completing many ship training courses. Gaining a complete working knowledge and operation of naval ships.
Related Accomplishments:
FOSS RO/RO Vessel: Coordinating with the sub-contractor for the HVAC vendor to resolve various complicated situations and designing many foundations needed to complete the project. Producing the various ceremonial signs per owner’s approval and working with them on all matters beyond the call of duty leaving the owner’s representative very pleased with company’s dedication and meeting schedules.
