Teaching is the most honorable of all crafts for it is the educator that helps the student to achieve their greatest potential to succeed in life by empowering them with the knowledge to mature intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially. I believe each child is deserving of a nurturing, respectful, and safe environment where these attributes can fully blossom. As an educator, I believe it is an honor to serve the child’s needs in these vast areas by guiding them in their evolution as people. It is not my place to dictate knowledge to them, but to facilitate their ability to think critically and choose for themselves the education that will ultimately be their roadmap to a full life.

My role as an educator is to guide, providing access to information rather than acting as the only source of information. It is in this manner of learning that the students' search for knowledge will be met, allowing them to learn to find answers to their questions. For students to construct and apply knowledge with critical thinking, they must be consistently challenged with high expectations to practice skills in realistic situations. Providing students access to hands-on activities and allowing adequate time and space to use materials that reinforce the lesson being studied creates an opportunity for individual discovery and construction of knowledge to occur. I also believe that teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth as a teacher is also always a student. One of my hopes as an educator is to instill a love of learning in my students, as I share my passion for learning with them. I feel there is a need for compassionate, energetic, and dedicated individuals who are excited about working with children. In our competitive society, it is important for students to not only receive a solid education but to work with someone who is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs. I am such a person and will always strive to be the best educator that I can be. CHARLES M. HARPER SR., BLA

3930 McKinney Ave., Unit 350, Dallas, TX. 75204 708-***-**** acu6ug@r.postjobfree.com Dear School Administrator,

I am extremely interested in the Teaching position at your school. Since moving to Texas in December of 2016, I have heard outstanding things about your school and would love to become a part of a winning team!

As a recent college graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and a minor in Cultural Anthropology from Ashford University, I am now pursuing my dream to be a teacher. Earlier this month, I proudly passed the TExES 4-8 Generalist Certification exam and am considered “Highly Qualified,” according to No Child Left Behind. My goal is to become a “best in class educator” by applying the practices and principles I have learned. My passion for history and writing, and my belief that every child can succeed with the proper motivation and instruction will make me an excellent teacher. I am eager to secure an internship or full-time teaching position for the 2016-2017 school year and would love to join your staff! As a Navy Veteran and former Operating Engineer, I know the value of teamwork and cooperation. My high energy and creativity will also aid me in reaching students and positively impacting them. I look forward to hearing from you soon so that we can discuss the position and how I can be an asset to your school. I can be reached at 708-***-****. Until then, have a great summer! Thank you for your consideration. Kindest regards,

Charles M. Harper Sr.
