WORK DUTIES:
Maintenance / Handyman
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Perform interior and exterior maintenance duties including minor repairs throughout several parks and playgrounds
• Sweep and rake leaves safely dispose of litter and debris including recyclables utilize weed whacker and lawn mower
• Ensure all Parks’ policies and procedures are followed daily to guarantee safety at all times
• Paint park benches and report to supervisor of any graffiti in park premises fix equipment as necessary
• Sanitize and maintain comfort stations and park houses ensuring the beautification of all locations
• Climb, prune, and shape trees and shrubs throughout NYC using chain saws, tools, and pruners
• Perform ecological restoration of NYC Parks plant trees, shrubs, and flowers fertilize and water soil
• Fix and install light fixtures, ceiling fans, flooring, and walls
• Buff, wax, strip, and polish floors using chemical cleaners and heavy machinery
• Conduct light electrical work including changing switches, wiring receptacles, and put up fixtures
• Install new toilets, sinks, traps, and maintain residential plumbing
• Follow all MSDS instructions and procedures
Steamfitter / HVAC Technician
• Diagnose malfunctions of heating/air conditioning/systems and components in HVAC units for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain equipment and systems in both residential and commercial properties
• Install, maintain, and fix sprinklers, standpipes, and PRVs install fire prevention insulation
• Fabricate and cut pipes and rods measuring for exact fittings using 300 machinery
• Braze and sweat cooper pipes using torches and proper tools measure and cut for core drilling
• Read and analyze blue prints with accuracy
• Conduct preventative maintenance of commercial and domestic air conditioners recharge units and systems
