Also perform manual layout inspections and dimensionally check any component that can’t be checked on the CMM’s using and programming Roundness gages, Optical Comparators, surface gages etc. I also balloon prints, collect data for case studies on prototype drive train composites for Engineering. I’m currently using Zeiss Calypso software on Zeiss Accura CMM and Brown & Sharp CMMs using GD&T.. I also used all office software’s such as Word, Excel, and Power Point for spread sheets.

My responsibilities were to program all new jobs that come from our prototype machine shop and the engineering group of TRW’s Tech Center and dimensionally check any case study parts for Engineering. I ballooned prints, collected data and layout of any dimensions that couldn’t be checked on the CMMs. I was using Wenzel and Brown & Sharp CMMs with Open Dimis software. I also used all office software’s such as Word, Excel, and Power Point for spread sheets.

My classification was CMM Programmer / Prototype Inspector. My responsibility were to program new jobs & edit old jobs which include 1st pc run buyoffs, program and run Gage R&R‘s, run Cape Studies, PIST, SCCC, and run PIST Summaries on Data Page.

I also assemble and grind in Net Pads on Assembly fixtures, Welding fixtures, and CMM holding fixtures. I also handled all Quality Assurance issues on fixtures, tooling and production parts. The software I was using was PC Dimis 3.7 in DCC mode. I down loaded IGS. & .step files using their CAD to program from. I also used office programs Word, Excel, Power Point ect.

My Classification was Tool, Die Inspector. My responsibility was Gage Calibration & to input all gages into a gage control system, calibrate and maintain gages in a Gage Tracking software to obtain American Axles ISO 9000 and QS 9000 certification. I also designed new Gages and fixtures. My Duties were to Check and verify Gages to insure calibration traceable to NIST. Which also included CMM Inspection, and plate layout inspection to attribute gages and Masters. I Programmed CMMs with PC Dimus and Calypso software to inspect gages that verified production parts. I developed Gage Control Sheets and instruction sheets for work stations, and complied SPC Data to make spread sheets using Gage-Track, Excel, Word, Office programs for Management.

Hired in as Chief Layout Inspector for both Aerospace and Tooling Groups. My duties were Develop CMM Programs to inspect medium to large aircraft weldments using DEA PJM, PC-DIMUS 3.2 software. I also repaired Gages and maintained the gage control System on a WordPerfect Dos program. I was responsible for calibration of the plants gages making sure all gages were traceable to NIST and Military Standards. Ballooned Blue Prints. I also worked for about a year as their Cad Cam Programmer. Programming CNC Lathes, VTLs, Mills, EDM machines as well as Their CMM Programmer

Hired in as Tool Room Machinist AA. Worked for about 2 Years on conventional lathes, mills, grinders in that classification. Then became a Tool and Die Maker. After about 3 years we started to get CNC’s in the tool room. At that point. I Became the Tool and Die Room Leader and started Programming Fanuc 6M, GE 550 and 1050T controls, MDI, set-up, and operated CNC Lathes And Mills. In 1984 Smith Morris did away with its tool room and I was transferred into Quality, working as Tool & Gage Inspector. Performing inspections on aircraft weldments, tooling, and gages. I Certified their gages and maintained a gage control system on file cards. I Calibrated all tooling and gages using plate layout and a Manual Bendix FLB OFI CMM. Worked as Chief Layout inspector the last year before Smith-Morris closed down.
