Responsible for the clinical development of student nurses of the South African Nursing Council R683 progamme(Bridging from enrolled nurse to registered nurse). Performed clinical practica in surgical, medical, theatre, casualty, paediatrics and outpatient departments. Procedures taught and assessed included basic life support, stomatherapy, tracheostomy, administration and control of medications including schedule drugs, wound management, ECG, immunisations, suturing, scrubbing for theatre, nebulisations, biopsy preparation, postural drainage, respiratory assessments, unit management procedures, catheterization, nasogastric tube insertion, thoracentesis and use of underwater seal drainage systems.
