Nature of Duties:- My responsibilities include Handling and storage of LPG & petroleum/ Chemical products in the Terminal and wharf operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

Work permit system.

Terminal safety.

Radar system.

DUTIES IN DETAIL

a.At Terminal

Handling, storage, reconciliation and dispatch of LP Gas, petrochemicals (HSD, MS, Naptha) and chemicals (Styrene Monomer, IPA, Acetone, n-Hexane, Toluene & Methanol).

Control room operations and communication system.

Inventory management (i.e. calculations).

Tank / spheres line up during ship off - loading and T/T loading. Regular checking of roof drains and bleeder valves, valve glands, pump seals etc. Monitoring of flow rate and pressure and temperature while transferring.

Participated actively in sphere (3000 MT) decommissioning and commissioning activities. Mercaptan charging.

Preparation of Cross Country Lines for receiving various products, Pigging operation.

Cleaning / suitably Preparing for storing the chemicals with a prime objective of quality of the product being stored.

Interactions with customers like IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, GAIL,LG Polymer (I) Ltd., TRIDENT CHEMPHARMA,DEEPAK FERTILIZERS,RIL etc. Maintaining documentation for every stage of operation.

b.At Wharf (Marine Co-Ordination for POL vessels)

Vessel positioning at berth, hose connection and off - loading of petroleum products like high speed diesel, petrol (motor spirit), naphtha, petro-chemical like methanol, IPA, Acetone and liquefied petroleum gas.

Hourly time log sheet preparation.

Pigging operations of c/c line for different products with liquid nitrogen gas

Maintaining safety while vessel off - loading.

Maintaining documentation all stages of operation.

Co-ordination with port control, C & F agents, Safety Surveyors for ship movement.

Co-ordination with port for safe berthing of the ship regarding safety operations, environmental aspects.

C. Utilities Contained in the Plant are:

Compressed air plant & air dryings unit.

LPG/POL Pump House

Gas compressor

Effluent treatment plant.

Fire water system.

Tank form for storage petroleum and chemicals maintenance of 112000 KL. Tank including floating roof structure.

LPG sphere storage capacity of 8400 MT (2800 MT each).

D. Safety & HSE:

Good experience in working with work permits system.

Actively participating in the safety meetings and discussing about unsafe conditions, Attending Mock Drills, having knowledge and a member of Process Safety Management System (PSMS) and Operating According to the SOP methods.

Equipment’s isolation procedure, vessel entry procedure, Nitrogen purging of the equipment for hydrocarbon freeing and air freeing.

Keeping Strict Vigilance and taking Corrective Measures for Pollution Control.

Undergone various training such as Environment and Work place hazards, gas testing procedure for hot works, H2S awareness and Confined space entry. I have effectively implemented and applied all the procedures in my day to day activities.

Having Special training & Safety courses like First Aid, Safety training in Naphtha handling, Firefighting, Handling of Wearing of Air Suits and Self Breathing Apparatus Conducted by the Company.
