Responsible for hardware procurement, system design, software contractor supervision and vendor relations for rollout of MS Dynamics Nav ERP system.
Designed and implemented a complete infrastructure upgrade. Installed new gigabit copper and fiber backbones, new server racks and servers. Virtualized the systems to reduce server count and power requirements. Installed new APC UPS systems. Replaced the tape backup systems with hard-drive and cloud-based backup systems. Set up redundant servers in a second location to eliminate points of failure and prevent downtime. Replaced old phone system with new Cisco IP telephony systems, including new call centers for Sales and Customer Service.

Completely rebuilt the company’s IT infrastructure, including new Data Centre, ERP System, and digital telephone systems. Designed and implemented the corporate website, including real-time stockholder information, audio and video content, and remote systems access. While the company was part of Parmalat’s North American Division, I was responsible for all I.T. operations and processes at 3 plants in Canada and connections to 7 plants in the U.S. After Parmalat sold the company, I was also given the task of restructuring the operation to be independent of Parmalat’s data network. Early in 2003, I also began working on shop-floor automation projects with the Maintenance Department, eventually becoming the primary IT resource for all projects involving factory automation.
