I have a combined total of twenty-five years in building construction. I started out as a laborer and worked my way up with hands-on experience in majority of all trades. My experience is in the capacity of equipment operator, carpenter, foreman, etc., etc.. I can do my own layout and establish grades working from drawings. The building projects I have experience on range from retail centers to several story structures. My experience covers total supervision of and support of employees/subcontractors as well as covering more than one project at one time. My background is very broad when it comes to management, as I have been fortunate enough to be involved in many areas of the business. I have experience in project scheduling and hiring of personnel, budget-(both setting and balancing), planning of and procurement of resources, estimating of materials, safety program -planning and enforcement, solicitation of bids from vendors, etc., etc.. I also have experience in quality control and being sure that the finished product meets all codes and requirements. I also have the technical skills necessary to direct and train field personnel. I can read and understand blueprints/schematics thoroughly and can work from them. I have experience in the installation and setup of machinery/equipment on an construction site. I have experience in facility management in the capacity of maintenance/new construction manager. I am old school with new school capabilities. I have cards in First Aid/CPR/Blood Pathogens plus 10 hour and 30 hour OSHA.
I have experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point. I have training/experience in Human Resource procedures, filing systems, documentation of daily activities, presentation of material and policies, coaching procedures, etc., etc.. I can utilize fax machines and copiers and I am accustomed to utilizing a laptop for daily job activities, documentation, and correspondence between jobsite and office/architect/owner/etc. I have a broad range of experience in the procurement of materials needed for the timely completion of a project as well as the upkeep of daily operations.
I have experience in PMS (Planned Maintenance Systems) and 3M (Maintenance Material Management).
I have experience working with teenagers (boys and girls) with behavioral problems as a youth counselor providing supervision and enforcing policies that provide a structured environment. I was also required to accurately document all movements, moods, reactions to certain situations on a daily basis that became a part of their legal records.
