Zodiac Aerospace Huntington Beach, CA March 2014 - Present

Mechanical Engineer – Aircraft Interiors

●Boeing 787-10 and 787-9 BFE (Buyer Furnished Equipment) Galley development

●Layout from initial design renderings, concept feasibility studies and detail of multiple Galleys, systems and components.

●Identification of proper materials, tolerances, finishes, fasteners, and production methods for new designs

●Ensure designs adhere to regulatory requirements, as well as customer and company specifications.

●Act as a shop liaison during prototype builds, static testing, and First Article Inspection to prevent and/or solve any engineering issue that may arise.

●Produce ECNs (Engineering Change Notice) as required.

●Engineering representative on the Change Control Board (CCB) and Material Review Board (MRB).

●On-Site Engineering Liaison during first ship set fit check and installation.

●Maintain open lines of communication with manufacturing, test, quality and purchasing to ensure the product is delivered on time and within budget.

●Layout and Design of new configuration as well as Modifications to existing Video Control System for 787

●Provided opinion and direction to fellow team members for design improvements.

●Provided CATIA/ENOVIA instruction to ensure a consistent product for downstream users of our data.

●Coordinated with other groups to realize an effective and simple solution to current CATIA modeling/process issues.

●Reduced part count on current Video Control Center to reduce cost, simplify and increase manufacturing rate.

●Modified the power unit mounting cradle design to reduce piece-part count from 14 to 2, reducing build time and cost, and at the same time increasing strength and reliability.

●Modified the fuel tank and its related mounting structure to reduce footprint while doubling capacity, easing installation and service and improving fuel flow to the engine.

●Successfully internalized the build process of the hybrid power units to eliminate outside processing and significantly reduce cost.

Mechanical Development Engineer – Transportation – Heavy Duty Trucking

●Worked as part of a design team that developed the exhaust layout and design for all medium and heavy duty truck configurations

●Developed packaging study layouts and mounting design proposals in CATIA V5 for EPA 2010 & EPA2007 exhaust after-treatment systems.

●Worked to standardize designs across multiple truck platforms both Heavy duty and medium duty which reduced part count and simplified service procedures.

●Worked as part of an integration team to introduce Cummins engines into multiple Daimler truck platforms.
