Production/quality

Wilco is an assembly and production work. Some of my job duties are more on the line of quality control, we inspect and clean and discard product before bagging and get ready to be shipped off. I also do a lot of repetitive labor work and fast pace hand work, I do operate a few machines as well.

Housekeeper

I worked at Barnes Hospital where I was responsible for cleaning the whole 12th floor in a doctor’s office. Some of my job duties were collecting all the trash in each exam room and restrooms, I had to deep clean each room every night. Some of the cleaning jobs were vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, and making sure all the rooms were restocked and the restrooms too. I had 27 examining rooms and 7 restrooms to clean every night.

I worked as a production worker. Some of my job duties consisted of fast pace work and some heavy lifting. I have worked several lines and I work around a lot of people. I was also trained while I was there to do quality, that job consisted of taking samples all thru out the day to make sure everything is running correctly. I did have to use scales, take water density tests, and I also had to chart and the results on a chart.

Security Guard

I worked a factory site where semis came in and out to transport the product that they made. I was in charge of checking the semis in and out, and communicating with the people on the loading docks thru intercom and phone. I would have to let the semis know exactly which dock is available and make sure that they get in and out quickly and smoothly. I also worked in HR on Fridays; the job required me to answer the phone set up tours with visitors to tour the plant. I did have to deliver and sort thru mail, and a lot of filing.

Behavioral Disorder Room Associate

My job duties varied, I would first have to ride the school bus in the morning to make sure that the students were well behaved on the bus and that made it to school safe. Throughout the day I assisted the teacher that I worked with keep the kids focused and on task. I had to escort kids to and from there out of class subjects and activities. I had made sure I was around when they were at recess to make sure I was there to defuse situations that could set the students off. I worked with them on social skills and also every day triggers that they will have to deal with a showed the student’s different ways of handling it.

Youth Care worker

This job was and summer job that worked when school was out. This job was similar to the job at the school district except the kids were high school students instead of elementary kids I had to transport them from home to the facility in the provided work vehicles. The kids were in a classroom setting where we had to teach them social skills and coping skills. We had to keep them on task and to stay focus make sure they had their medications, and escort them to and from counseling sections and different activities sometimes at the facility and sometimes with the public.

Housekeeping/ CNA

I worked as a housekeeper for about a month until I was hired on as a CNA. As a housekeeper I had to make sure all the rooms were swepted and mopped I had to change the linens on the bed and restock everything in the room. I also was called for messes and spills, and even vomit. I when I became a CAN, my job duties was to make sure that the patients were very comfortable with me. I had to give them sponge baths and sometimes showers, make sure they were dressed and presentable. I also made sure they were feed, and some them had to take naps and others went to their activities. For those ones that were bed written I had to ROM with them, and make sure they looked good when their family came to visit.

EDUCATION

I was in high school for 3 years; I never finished my 12th grade year. I went back in 2001 and got my GED, and then about 4 years after that I went South Eastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa. There I studied for my AA degree and my Medical Assistance degree. I have not finished them yet but I do plan to go back to college soon and become a Registered Nurse.
