Experience:
April 2013- June 2014 National Oilwell Varco- Compliance Department Administrative Assistant
Houston, Texas
At NOV, I worked as the administrative assistant to the Corporate Compliance department. In this position, I provided administrative support to a team of 7 attorneys, 3 paralegals and other staff members. Beyond the typical filing, answering telephones and correspondence, I also helped maintain and manage a Sharepoint database with our customers and their various stages in our due diligence/legal review process. I handled all office expenses, and coded invoices for payment within the company’s accounts payable system. I was the point of contact between our company and the legal firms we contracted. I was also responsible for organizing company events and training sessions, staff meetings with both U.S. and international members of the NOV compliance group, planning and booking both domestic and international travel for our attorneys and conducted a system of “checks” during our due diligence to obtain all necessary information from new vendors.
September 2007-August 2012 De Novo Legal, an Epiq Systems Company Office Manager
Houston, Texas
I started at De Novo as a receptionist in 2007. In that capacity I was responsible for greeting people at the front desk, answering a multi-line telephone, maintaining employee records and scheduling appointments. By December of 2007, I was promoted to Administrative Assistant. In 2010, I was promoted once again to Office Manager of our Houston and Dallas locations. I ran the day to day needs of the office, including maintaining office supplies. The main objective for this position was to staff and run e-discovery contract “projects.” I was responsible for placing job ads, reviewing resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, hiring and dismissal of contract employees, maintaining employee files and records with both hard copies and using an electronic database, conducting new hire orientations, and processing unemployment claims. Once a project began, I handled logistic reports, including productivity and progress. Because time was limited to handle these legal reviews, often there were multiple shifts and employees in different cities. This position required travel between Houston and Dallas on a regular basis.
De Novo Legal was bought out by Epiq Systems in January 2012 and relocated outside of Texas.
April 2007- May 2007 The Madeksho Law Firm Legal Assistant
Houston, Texas
At the Madeksho Law Firm, I was responsible for obtaining medical records for asbestos legal cases. This was a temporary position.
March 2007- April 2007- Medical Research Consultants Researcher
Houston, Texas
At MRC, I was responsible for obtaining medical records for legal firms on a contract basis.
