Academic Projects

1) Library Management

Team Size: 7

Language: C Programming

Description: This project is done as part of the 1st SEM M.E. curriculum. The mini project ‘Library Management’ is the sample project for managing library. The project aims at developing library management system using the C language that enables an organization to maintain its library. The project demonstrates the creation of a user interface of a system, without the use of C Graphics library. The application uses basic C function to generate menus, show message boxes and print text on the screen.

2) Automatic Road Toll Collection System

Team Size: 1

Language: Embedded C

Description: This project was done as part of 1st semester M.E. curriculum. The objective is to design and develop an automated toll collection system which can collect toll without any human intervention using 8051 microcontroller, RFID module and GSM module. An RFID tag is attached to each vehicle when the vehicle comes near the toll booth the tag id is read by the RFID reader and suitable balance is deducted from the owner’s account and an SMS regarding the balance status is sent to the vehicle owner’s number.

3) Solar Operated Water Heating and Cooling System

Team Size: 3

Language: Embedded C

Description: This is a project done as part of final year B.Tech curriculum. The objective is to design a system to detect and compare the intensity of light and move the solar panel using geared motor to harvest maximum power. This generated power is utilized by heating or cooling system. We use Peltier module, temperature sensor, reed sensors & water level sensors controlled by PIC16F877A microcontroller. My contribution to the project is designing the H-bridge circuit for geared motors and interfacing the sensors to the microcontroller.

4) Embedded Robot for Safety and Security Purposes.

Team Size: 2

Language: Embedded C

We have developed a robot which involved two main units the base unit and the robot unit. Robot unit is capable of detecting the substances like heat, water, obstacle, harmful gas and capture those images and send the details to the base unit through wireless RF communication to base unit. The movement of the robot was controlled by the base unit. In this project we had interfaced gas sensor, IR Sensor, Temperature Sensor, water Sensor, DC motors, accelerometer, RF Transceiver with the Microcontroller.
