Job Description:

•Direct ground crew in loading, unloading, securing and staging of aircraft first class baggage and economy baggage and priority baggage. Determine the quantity & orientation of baggage distribution in such a manner that space used is maximized.

•Responsibilities at Airport Terminal, Arrival Area

oFrom the Universal Flight Information System check the estimated time of arrival against the DCA arrival belt allocation and note any late or early arrivals.

oVerify the number of expected local baggage ULDs from incoming CPM for the respective flights.

oDischarge only DXB terminating baggage (online) onto the belt as per carrier’s requirement and segregate the transfer bags to Interline area.

oNote down the timings for the first and last bag placed on the belt for particular flight record the above timings in the Dnata Management Information System.

oSeparate bags requiring special handling like odd size, baby prams, golf kit, and wheel chair etc. and deliver them manually to the arrivals hall.

•Responsibilities at Airport Terminal, Departures

oCheck with the ULD control office on the availability and serviceability of ULDs in stock for various carriers and plan accordingly.

oObtain ULD and bulk baggage build-up requirements for various flights from load control and allocate Insert/affix ULD tags/labels to the ULD and ensure removal of old tags/labels.

oMonitor the flow of baggage on the belt and ensure of loading baggage into the allocated ULD.

oEnsure that all the build-up baggage ULDs and trolleys for particular flight are properly secured and dispatched to the aircraft.

oMonitor the flow of last minute baggage, Limited Release and Rush Baggage and dispatch them to their respective flight.

oLiaise with Dispatcher and update him on final number of built-up ULDs and trolleys accordingly.

Left Behind & Unclaimed Baggage

oReceive all the left behind baggage from airside area and initiate segregation of tagged and tag less bags.

oEstablish the best possible routing to the final destination and generate a Rush Tag for the left behind bags accordingly.

oRetain the Rush tag bags for minimum required cooling period before forwarding them to final destination.

oUpdate the world tracer system with the required details accordingly.

oUpdate the description and identification of all the tag less bags on World Wide Tracers system and check list of possible matches/claims
