MSAT 2 Project (Mobile Source Air Toxics Phase 2) consists of constructing a new unit within the existing refinery. The unit will extract Benzene from the Gasoline pool within the refinery. The Benzene will be shipped via Rail Car at a loading dock that was constructed for the project, besides the loading dock the Splitter and Extractor unit were building as well with a mile pipe rack and 5 additional storage tanks, fire water reroute and installation with outfall drainage.

Responsibilities:

Provide oversight to all activities associated with the MSAT2 Project and work collaboratively with contractor safety representatives / safety technicians to ensure safe work practices are executed. Communicate safety goals and procedures to contractors and vendors on a routine basis and provide necessary guidance to contractors during project activities. Work collaboratively with MPC Safety Coordinator and Refinery Safety Professionals. Safety documents, orientations and Safety Training translation to Spanish for Spanish contractors. Ensure Refinery rules and procedures associated with incident & injury reporting and investigation are followed to ensure consistency between the MSAT2 Project and the existing refinery. Project Azithromycin Release Project

This project consisted of the renovations and expansion of an existing Building at Pfizer, Vega Baja, to support production and packaging of Azithromycin Sustained Release. The project was a two-story expansion and warehouse addition totaling approximately 30,000 sf. The interior structure was mainly hollow block wall with cement plaster finish. A new freight elevator was added and an existing passenger elevator was refurbished. Two new AHU's were installed along with new exhaust fans, duct collection system, and a new house vacuum system. Process and packaging equipment included a new sleeve, milling machine, drum lifter, cap and bottle feeders, filling machine, capper, puncher, cartoner, and supporting conveyer systems.

At the same time with the Azithromycin project was also Safety in charge of the Efferdent Tower Restoration after a massive explosion in that tower.
