Senior Well site Geologist/mudlogger: Provide on-site geological consultation for oil and natural gas drilling rigs. Set up and maintain gas detection equipment and monitor gases during the drilling process. Learning and using proprietary software as well as commercial software were important parts of this position. Using gamma resistivity as well as seismic data and analyzing samples in a real time drilling environment to determine the exact location and path of the wellbore and making recommendations as needed for maximum production. Complete a comprehensive geological log of the well during drilling as well as sample collecting and testing for hydrocarbons and then provide this information to the client during the drilling process and a finalized version at the end of the well. Communication is absolutely vital to the success of this job. This job was 100% field work.
