Calpine Corporation – Owner’s Engineer for Electrical and Instrumentation and Control Systems for combined cycle cogeneration electrical power plants. The projects include a Combustion Turbine electrical generator, HRSG, and Steam Turbine electrical generator. Responsible for coordination and oversight of the EPC turn-key Contractor and Owner Furnished Equipment. Scope of work includes the integration of the Combustion Turbine/HRSG/Steam Turbine train system controls into BOP equipment using an Emerson Ovation DCS.

El Paso Electric Company – Montana 400 Megawatt Simple Cycle Peaking Power Plant. The project scope included instrumentation and controls engineering design for the simple cycle operation of the four (4) General Electric (GE) LMS 100 combustion turbines with NOx Reduction/CO Catalyst (SCR/CO) systems. Responsible for specification, engineering, design, and integration of a GE Mark VIe DCS for the BOP control system. The BOP includes electrical power distribution, fuel gas compressors, cooling towers, circulating water pumps, water treatment facilities, demineralized and fire/service water storage tanks, fire pumps, zero liquid discharge system, and aqueous ammonia unloading, handling and storage facilities.

Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) – Colbert Fossil Plant. Responsible for all phases of engineering and design on Gravimetric Coal Feeder system upgrade. Perform as lead Electrical and I&C engineer for balance-of-plant design package including electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Tasks include project management, engineering, specification, and design. Detailed engineering includes control systems integration with existing ABB DCS plant control system including proprietary Stock DT-9 PLC and cyber security foreign device interface firewall.

TVA – Southaven and Lagoon Creek Combined Cycle Gas Plant Survey and Single Point Failure/Vulnerabilities Analysis Report. Performed a study of plant systems to identify potential sources of single points of failure/vulnerabilities (SPF) in the Electrical and I&C equipment in an effort to curb such incidences, improve plant availability, prevent ancillary damage and prevent loss of revenue.

TVA – Paradise and Cumberland Fossil Plants. Responsible for all phases of engineering and design on belt conveyor coal sampler system. Perform as lead I&C engineer for balance-of-plant design package including electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Tasks include project management, engineering, specification, and design. Detailed engineering includes control systems integration with existing plant control system including Modicon PLC and Allen-Bradley PLC.

TVA – Project Engineer for Balance of Plant (BOP) engineering and design of TVA Bull Run and Kingston Dry Fly Ash Projects. Tasks include project management, engineering, design, specification, design, and procurement. Scope of work includes all electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment for Dry Fly Ash system, including Ash Hopper valves; Vacuum Producer; Filter/Separator/Nuva Feeders; Pressure (Blower) Convey line Train; and, Silo storage and truck/train unloading system.

TVA – Responsible Engineer for Balance of Plant (BOP) engineering and design of TVA Paradise, Bull Run, and Kingston SO3 Mitigation Projects. Tasks include project management, engineering, design, specification, design, and procurement. Scope of work includes all civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment for the Hydrated Lime Injection System.

TVA – Responsible Engineer for engineering and design of TVA Widows Creek, John Sevier, Colbert, and Allen Automatic Generation Control (AGC) Projects. Tasks include project management, engineering, design, specification, design, and procurement. Scope of work includes electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment for the Power House DCS Scada Data Link to the substation RTUs and TRO Scada Master.

TVA – Lead Instrumentation and Control Engineer on TVA Paradise, Bull Run, and Kingston FGD system projects. Tasks include engineering, specification, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up testing. Scope of work includes all instrumentation and control equipment for the limestone preparation plant, Wet Scrubber (FGD) absorber, fans, ductwork, stack, and balance of plant.

Entergy Corporation - Lead Electrical Engineer on transmission and distribution upgrade project. Tasks included project management, engineering, design, specification, and procurement. Scope of work included upgrading transmission and distribution substation capacity, designing electrical and relaying equipment layouts, and specifying transformers, capacitor banks, circuit breakers, circuit switchers, relay control panels, and SCADA components. Deliverables included construction packages: purchase requisitions, construction specification, substation layout drawings, power, grounding, and lighting plans, control panel layout drawings, control schematics, and interconnect wiring details.

Department of Energy (DOE) Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) - Lead Instrumentation and Control Test Engineer for the facility upgrade project. Tasks included test procedure specifications, commissioning, and startup testing. Scope of work included commissioning and startup testing services to the SPR’s major life extension program to maintain drawdown readiness of the four major storage sites, including integration of a new Fisher Provox distributed control systems (DCS) for each site, water intake structures, and major oil and water piping and pumping installations.
