Closeout Coordinator

Coordinated drawing closeout activities by working with construction supervisors to take receipt of drawing markups and ensuring correct implementation into all drawing disciplines. Reviewed these with client engineering personnel and supervised the execution of subsequent client comments into the final design drawings.

Drawing Checker

Checked piping and structural drawings while directing and coordinating the activities of other Piping, Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation drawing checkers. Utilized both AutoCAD and NavisWorks software to view, verify and dimension 3D models overlaid with 3D scan data.

Drafting Coordinator

Supervised and coordinated the efforts of Structural, Piping, Checking/Verification and Electrical & Instrumentation design and drafting teams toward a common goal. Maintained drawing status documents and generated progress reports. Worked closely with clients to implement revisions and updates to the overall platform design.

Work Pack Manager

Developed a standardized system to create Work Packs for all engineering/construction disciplines. Established and supervised a team of individuals responsible for the creation and coordination of Work Packs. Developed multi-discipline critical path schedules in order to accomplish as much construction work as possible during platform operation in order to minimize the number and duration of platform shut-ins.

Project Manager on numerous engineering design projects. Most notable are:

The preliminary (FEED) design of separation facilities in Mexican waters, including P&ID’s, SAFE Charts, equipment specifications, calculations and studies. Design rates were 500,000 BPD and 300 MMSCFD (sour gas). Facilities included bulk separation, gas compression, vapor recovery, shipping pumps, utilities and flare systems on four of six bridge-connected structures.

The detail design, including P&ID’s, SAFE Charts and sizing studies for a closed-loop cooling system addition and seawater lift system upgrade to support an 85 MMSCFD production train on a deepwater facility, including complete relief system review and hazards analysis.

Member of the Fabrication and Construction Department with responsibilities including the management of fabrication and construction projects, project scheduling, coordination between engineering and fabrication companies, direction of procurement team and client representation to fabrication and installation companies. Also responsible for the generation of engineering, fabrication and installation bids and the evaluation of bids received from contractors.

Manager of Technical Services. Managed and directed several departments of an oilfield fabrication and construction company. Responsible for the direction and coordination of personnel in the following departments:

Oversaw the day-to-day activities of these groups as well as developed long range plans for personnel and resource utilization and development. Streamlined and standardized bid development to ensure consistency and dramatically reduced the time required to generate bids. Created an information matrix to loop real-world costs and resources utilized in the fabrication and construction activities to Bid Department in order to fine tune bidding and costing processes.

Project Manager on various domestic and international offshore and land based projects, including on-site surveys for the addition/modification of piping and equipment packages, two and three phase production and test separators, pumps, meters, vent booms, fuel gas scrubber/filters, generators and generator buildings, deck extensions, ladders, stairways, access platforms and other related items.

Member of a five-man team responsible for the successful establishment of a complete offshore/onshore construction company in Nigeria from the “ground up”. Moved on to next assignment in three years leaving behind a fully functional administration and engineering office in Lagos and fabrication facility in Warri and Port Harcourt with a satellite fabrication facility in Escravos.

Established from the “ground up” a complete Engineering, Design and Drafting Department in Lagos, Nigeria and served as part time “Engineering Manager” for this office. Established all drafting procedures and standards including electronic and hard copy filing and retrieval systems. Standardized engineering activities and directed and coordinated the activities of all engineering personnel.

Engineering Technician supervisor responsible for scheduling and directing the activities of all Engineering Technicians. Engineering Technician activities include project management, engineering assistance, drawing checking, drafting coordination, engineering/fabrication coordination and client representation to fabrication and installation contractors.

Acted as “Construction Coordinator” for two major offshore production platform upgrades located in Nigeria, West Africa. Responsibilities included on-site resolution of piping/structural problems, material specification and procurement and coordination with client project managers and inspectors.
