Randstad Technologies 2014 – Oct 2015

Project Manager - Contract

APM on a Kellogg’s Company contract to installation, integration and test wireless networks in food production plants and distribution warehouses across the US. Composed several procedures to facilitate conducting the Site Survey and wrote an Integration manual to be used by the subcontractors to install new CAT6 wiring, Fiber Optic cables, install new cabinets and provide AC power. Hired and managed subcontractors to install new HVAC systems and managed electrical contractors to run new electrical conduits to power the electronics.

General Dynamics 2011 to 2014

Program Manager - Contract

Generate project plans, define scope of work, build detailed schedules, develop budgets, and write procurement plans. Create Specifications, SOWs and Contract Deliverable Items, evaluate vendor qualifications, award subcontracts and manage subcontractor equipment deliveries. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers. Prepare weekly and monthly status reports for the customer and senior management.

-Assigned by Director of Operations to investigate a major contract that was behind schedule, over budget and having issues meeting the technical specification. Came up with a new ETC, revised the schedule, created a new risk analysis and management reserves, and worked with engineering to devise solutions to meet the specifications

-Senior program manager for $1. 3M New Product design of a low-cost integrated LEO antenna system. Manage the efforts of multifunctional teams in TX, GA and NC. Manufactured prototypes and pilot systems, preformed first article tests, and initiated CE Certification process before releasing the production drawings to the manufacturing department for fabrication and assembly of 230 systems to be sold worldwide.

-Managed a $6.8M contract to supply antennas and integrated electronic to a major provider of satellite service for the government. Maintained profit and schedule over one year contract effort. Managed the delivers of manufactured parts and equipment to meet the customer’s critical delivery date to start service in support of military operations.

VIASAT, Inc. 2008 to 2011

Facilities Installation and Program Manager

Managed the design, procurement and installation of large parabolic antenna structures and integrated TX/RX equipment for tracking GEO satellites. Prepared cost estimates and bids in support of Product Line Departments. Provided monthly project reports and metric analysis to upper management and customer. Monitored program financial status including invoicing and milestone payments.

-Directed the design, manufacture and delivery of a $1.2M antenna system for Signals Intelligence missions in India, on time and on budget.

-Deployed and managed teams for US and European installations. Significantly reduced travel and per diem costs with the integration of European contractors to supplement corporate work force.

-Managed the installation and test of four Ka-Band antenna systems for DirecTV

-Installation manager for the EUTELSAT contract to install and test new Satellite Earth station in Europe. Managed the subcontractors and delivery of the equipment in Europe.

ASC Signal (formerly Andrew Corporation) 1997 to 2008

Program Manager

Managed all aspects of several multi-million, multiyear contracts for US, Canadian, Asian, European and African customers. Developed the work break down structures, budgets, schedules, and FMEA. Managed the engineering team that designed the systems and the various vendors and subcontractors that provided the electronic devices and constructed the sites.

-Managed a $5.5M IPSTAR contract for the installation and test of six satellite earth stations in Southeast Asia. Overcame numerous logistical obstacles and hired local subcontractors to assemble and install the antennas and connect the antenna electronic equipment to the service center.

-Managed the design, documentation, and production of tools for a 5.6m and 8.1m Ka-Band parabolic antenna including the mount, motors, actuators and motor controller.

-Wrote the winning proposals and managed 2 contracts for the turnkey design and onsite installation of 12 satellite communication systems valued at $6.2M and $5.8M. Received recognition from both the Customer and Corporate management for completing the construction and installation on schedule. Site construction included diesel generators, concrete shelters, UPS, fire suppression systems, concrete driveways, parking lots, outdoor lighting, antennas, TX/RX equipment, underground utilities, equipment racks with M&C system, and fiber optic modems.
