Primary duties were as a maintenance electrician troubleshooting and repairing vital equipment on multimillion dollar oil rigs in the Permian Basin. Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair led to reduction in downtime saving drilling companies tens of thousands of dollars in lost man-hours and equipment downtime.

Quickly became go-to technician called upon for the most difficult of tasks. Gained extensive experience on, but not limited to, Variable Frequency Drives, Programmable Logic Controllers, control circuitry, motor replacement, equipment wiring/rewiring, generators, grounding equipment, and lighting, covering voltages ranging from 24VAC/VDC to 480 VAC to include single and 3- phase equipment. Daily reading and understanding of electrical schematics required to perform duties.

During lighter work demands, was called upon to provide expertise and invaluable assistance to production division assisting with new construction. Primary duties included running conduit both rigid and EMT above and underground, terminating wiring in MCC panel, and wiring up control circuitry to Variable Frequency Drives. Required ability to read and understand electrical schematics for construction site.

Spent 15+ years as a maintenance electrician advancing from a 3rd-shift maintenance electrician to maintenance lead for entire maintenance department answering only to the maintenance manager and assuming his role and responsibilities in his absence.

Became a sought-out subject matter expert entrusted with the most difficult tasks, often called in to repair equipment that no one else could. After moving on to current company was approached about performing freelance work in off-time due to abundance of knowledge and experience. Provided hands on training and mentorship to junior employees improving department level of knowledge and production.

Highlights and experience include extensive knowledge in troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs including experience with RSLogic 500, RSLogic 5000, RSLinks, Studio Logix 5000. Obtained experience with other PLC brands as well, to include Automate and Omron. Responsible for troubleshooting on multimillion dollar envelope production equipment with multiple start/stop stations. Other tasks performed/experience gained included, but are not limited to, installing circuitry, lighting work, proximity sensors/switches, photoelectric sensors/switches, variable speed motor drives, motor control systems, HVAC, pneumatic and vacuum systems covering voltage from 5VDC to 480VAC 3-phase equipment. I was an active member of the company’s safety committee since beginning of employment. Entrusted to give Lockout/Tag Out training to employees raising company level of knowledge on program vital to personnel and equipment safety. Received regular training in CPR and first aid.

Various skills acquired/tasks performed include welding, running of conduit, plumbing, carpentry, forklift and scissor lift operation, working safely on raised platforms, and general tasking of a handyman.
