Category Manager
Directed purchasing strategies and activities for Corporate Office locations across Mexico, West Africa, North Sea, and Mexico by aggregating demand, creating, analyzing, and awarding RFX, RFI, RFP, for related items. Supervised buyers with an emphasis on ensuring demand are aggregated on a monthly basis.
Key Accomplishments:
Reduced the number of safety equipment suppliers from 7 to 3. Centralized the suppliers for safety equipment and consolidated category spend to gain leverage with three suppliers. Results: Attained savings over $350,000 for 3 different plants (Mexico/Africa, Middle East, and North Sea rigs) the first year by utilizing three suppliers to support the company’s safety equipment needs.
Established rebate programs with 3 different vendors. Negotiated with major suppliers in the U.S. and North Sea to receive 5-7% at the end of the said term accounting for 45% of total spend. Results: Approximately $3 million in rebates will be received by the end of the year.
Negotiated global contract rates and terms for all MRO, equipment, indirect services including I.T. equipment/services globally. Spearheaded successful negotiations with suppliers by extracting, transforming, loading and analyzing historical, current, and future data, and formed support for all geographical regions of operations. Results: Negotiated with over 150 vendors and established over 300 pricing agreements worldwide to increase automated purchase order program to 48% while decreasing the number of days to buyer from 5 to 1.

Results: Created savings of over $1 million annually, ensured accuracy of inventories, lead times, logistics, and payments.
