My role as PLANNING ENGINEER includes
Weekly Planning and meeting with clients review the status; modify the project schedule with available front and available drawings
Detailed Micro Planning of each bigger activity by deciding the proper sequence for attacking it with available resources and in minimum possible time
Progress updating, preparing weekly and monthly progress reports, comparing it with baseline schedule
Providing day wise targets for execution engineers for each milestone activities
Detailed joint wise weld metal calculation from all AFC drawings received till date and continuous monitoring of progress by joint completion and electrode consumption
Design detailing of drawings issued by client using AutoCAD make them ready for fabrication
Provides the necessary changes in drawings if fabrication team requests due to practical feasibility and present it before client
Prepare Cutting Plans for plates and tubular for fabrication with available materials.
Any variation in baseline schedule is promptly taken care and providing necessary resources and manpower and is expedited to catch up with the baseline schedule
Solving Design and Engineering related queries of execution team, as per drawings and codes
Apart from Planning I am involved in PROJECT execution also, by coordinating and controlling the execution activities with execution engineers in order to, execute the project as per planned baseline schedule

ACADEMIC PROJECT
Study of TMT steel bars: The TMT steel bars is found to have improved mechanical properties from the conventional CTD bars this is mainly achieved by cooling the hot rolled bars suddenly to a low temperature, the process is known as Quenching. This is the crucial process in the production flow of the TMT steel bars. The final product is checked for various mechanical properties and the quality is thus assured.
